Joe Biden's campaign launched a new ad introducing Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate that showed footage of him asking her to join the ticket.
'Hi, hi, hi, hi, sorry to keep you,' the California senator says on the call. 'No, that's alright, you ready to get to work?' Biden asks. A seemingly surprised Harris then responds, 'Oh my God. I am so ready to go to work.'
Harris will kick off her time as a vice presidential candidate with a joint appearance with Biden in Wilmington, Delaware late Wednesday afternoon - and on Friday she'll speak at a conference marking the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment on the same day as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

The ad serves as an introduction of her to supporters, featuring vintage pictures of the California senator

The ad also blasts President Donald Trump for his handling of the coronavirus crisis and the Black Lives Matter demonstrations
It showed footage of protesters being cleared with pepper balls and teargas outside the White House on June 1
Protesters were cleared from the area directly before President Trump walked across Lafayette park for his photo-op with a Bible in front of St. John's church

The conference is sponsored by The 19th, a non-profit news organization that covers the intersection of gender, politics and policy.
Other speakers include the Democrats' 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton, who was the first woman to ever top a presidential ticket.
The announcement of Harris marked the third time a female candidate was selected for veep and the first time a woman of color was chosen.
Other women speaking at the conference include two other vice presidential hopefuls: former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth, along with former 2002 presidential hopeful, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, Harris and Markle won't actually be rubbing elbows despite their same-day apperances, as the conference will be held virtually.
At the Wednesday event in Delaware, Biden and Harris will likely outline how they plan to hit the campaign trail amid the pandemic.
Footage of Biden and Harris together in the new ad was mainly pre-pandemic.
It included vintage photos of Harris with her Indian-born mother, as she explained how she was encouraged to challenge racial injustice.
'It's why as United States senator I have fought to represent people like my mother, people who politicians often overlook, or don't take seriously,' she said.
In the spot, Harris also takes on Trump.
'Right now America needs action. In the middle of a pandemic, the president is trying to rip away healthcare,' she said. 'While small businesses close, he's given breaks to his wealthy donors.'
'And when the people cried out for support, he teargassed them,' she added, as the ad displayed the infamous footage of Black Lives Matter protesters being cleared in the moments before Trump's St. John's church photo-op on June 1.
'America is in crisis, and I know Joe Biden will lead us out of it,' she also said.
She called Biden a 'man of faith, decency and character.'
'He raised his family that way, I saw it firsthand with my good friend Beau,' Harris said, with the ad flashing a picture of she and Beau Biden, who like her served as his state's attorney general.
He died of cancer in 2015.
'But together it's a battle we can win. We just have to take action,' Harris said.
The end of the spot cuts back to Biden and Harris' back-and-forth when he asked her to be his vice presidential nominee.
'First of all, is the answer yes?' he asks.
'The answer is absolutely yes, Joe. And I am ready to work, I am ready to do this with you, for you. I'm just deeply honored and very excited,' she says.
