Daniel Sturridge's injury nightmare has resurfaced after a foot problem forced the England international onto the sidelines once again.
It had been anticipated that Sturridge would play some minutes in the Europa League game against Bordeaux on Thursday night but he was ruled out at the eleventh hour.
Liverpool have sent Sturridge for a precautionary scan but, given his history, fears are legitimate that he will miss another chunk of games.

This is the fifth different problem Sturridge has suffered since September 2014 and he has only made 18 appearances, starting just 12 games, in that period.
Sturridge has not kicked a ball for Jurgen Klopp since he was appointed in October and the manager is unsure when the 26-year-old will be fit to return.
Klopp said before the game against Bordeaux started: ‘I can’t say so much about this because he trained in the morning, then we went to the hotel.
‘Daniel was with us and then he had to leave to go for a scan. At this moment I cannot say more, we have to wait for the results.’
His fitness problems began when he pulled his thigh muscle in training with England at St George’s Park; there then followed a calf injury and another thigh issue before a muscle tear in his hip, sustained on March 22, ended up requiring surgery in May.
He spent the summer working in America to regain his fitness before playing three games against Norwich, Aston Villa and Everton in the Barclays Premier League, scoring two goals.
