Mod Sun gets emotional on stage as he credits fans for 'saving' his 'G**damn life' after his split from Avril Lavigne
Mod Sun got emotional on stage as he profusely thanked the crowd at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles for 'f***ing saving' his 'G**damn life' these past six weeks.
Two months after the end of his year-long engagement to Avril Lavigne, the 36-year-old singer (born Derek Ryan Smith) credited his fans for getting him through their split.
As he reflected on thinking he had 'everything f**king going' his way, the performer got 'tested like a motherf**ker.'
'This tour, my life changed completely in the blink of an eye,' he said, referring to his breakup, in a video captured by a fan, uploaded to YouTube.
He went on to say touring has been the 'one thing to save' him and make him feel 'loved' and 'not alone.'

He went on to tell any of his fans that are going through 'some s**t' like 'heartbreak', 'depression' or 'anxiety', not to be afraid to ask for help.
Last month, sources close to Mod Sun told TMZ that he's 'been down in the dumps since his split from Avril, which was far from a mutual decision.'
'As if being blindsided by the abrupt end to their engagement wasn't bad enough, he feels absolutely devastated by her budding romance with Tyga,' the insider said.
Pictures of his ex and her new packing on the PDA have been 'especially triggering for Mod.'
It's been said that Mod views Avril's behaviour as a big slap in the face and believes it's vengeful towards him despite feeling that he has done nothing wrong.
Sources close to Avril have claimed that they were on and off for months and things just weren't working.
Mod's acquaintances, however, dispute this and say they were completely together and had been sharing a home.

His sister Danielle had previously shared a post in support of her brother, simply writing: 'Family first' showing where her allegiances lie.
In February, Mod broke his silence on the split. with his representative informing Page Six that both he and Lavigne 'were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour.'
Mod took to Instagram, a the time, with an emotional post, writing: 'In 1 week my entire life completely changed…

While what exactly led to the split remains unclear, the tabloid says neither party were unfaithful to one another.
