MASH actress Judy Farrell dead at 84: The star played Nurse Able opposite Alan Alda and also appeared in Get Smart and The Partridge Family
Hollywood actress Judy Farrell has died at the age of 84, TMZ shared on Tuesday.
She passed on Sunday in a hospital after suffering from a massive stroke nine days prior, the site reported.
The star was best known for working on the long-running smash-hit TV series MASH, about the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital care for the injured during the Korean War.
The drama aired from 1972 until 1983 and won numerous Emmy Awards.
Judy played Nurse Able opposite acclaimed actor Alan Alda, who played Captain Hawkeye Pierce.
She was also married to her MASH costar Mike Farrell, who played BJ Hunnicutt, from 1963 until 1983.
Judy also made appearances on the well-known TV series Get Smart and The Partridge Family.

Judy's son, Michael, spoke to the news outlet this week to break the sad news of her passing.
Michael shared that she died in the hospital with her loved ones around her.
She was not able to speak but could hold hands with her family and was 'alert' before she passed away.
Last week she suffered from a large stroke that incapacitated her and kept her from speaking.
She worked on a total of eight episodes of MASH as she played the blonde beauty with a Malibu tan.
In her scenes she worked with Alda's acerbic Hawkeye.
The star from Oklahoma was also in 13 episodes of the soap opera Port Charles.

Mike was her first husband, and she married again soon after.
In 1985 she wed Joe Bratcher, who is now 76.
He is an actor and producer, known for Lunch Ladies (2017), The Howling (1981) and Pray TV (1980).
Judy got her acting start in 1969 when she earned a role on the TV series Get Smart with Don Adams and Barbara Feldon.
She then played a nurse on The Interns the following year, and had a small uncredited part as Pam in the hit movie The Andromeda Strain in 1971.
That same year she played a barmaid in JW Coop and then went on to land two episodes on Medical Center as nurse Elly Kimball.

In 1972 she appeared as Mrs Thelen on the series Emergency! and then was Grace Clemes on Room 222 in 1973. She had two episodes on The Rookies in 1973 where she played Jan Collins and then Ruth Skidmore.
In 1974 she landed in The Partridge Family as Mrs Carlysle.
In 1977 she was in the TV movie Intimate Strangers which starred Sally Struthers and Dennis Weaver.
In 1977 she was in three episodes of Quincy ME with Odd Couple vet Jack Klugman as she played a nurse.
Judy appeared in Chapter Two, Fugitive Family, Benson and CBS Library before her career-changing role on MASH.
After MASH she starred as Mrs Charlotte Miller on the TV series Fame from 1982 until 1983. She appeared in four episodes.
Her last role was Diane Harris in the 2006 project Long-Term Relationship.
