The hilarious moment late comedian Cal Wilson gave an undercover cop the finger: 'He pulled me over and I just lost it'

Late comedian Cal Wilson's hilarious encounter with an undercover traffic police officer has been shared by her famous friends, 2DAY FM's Hughesy, Ed & Erin.

On Thursday's show, the hosts shared a clip in which Wilson recounted the comical incident where she gave a cop the finger.

The star of The Great Australian Bake Off, who passed away at the age of 53 on Wednesday after a brief struggle with an aggressive cancer, told the story while discussing her appearance on the SBS program, Who the Bloody Hell Are You?

'What happened was, my son is in the car. He is two years old at this time. I am at a roundabout and I want to turn left from a right-hand lane, which you can’t do, but I am going to give it a crack,' she said.

'And as I try and turn left, a guy on the left who is going straight toots at me because I am doing the wrong thing.'

Cal went on to say that she went completely off the rails.

'I lay on the horn, I do the fingers to him and I mouth the F word at him…and he turns his sirens on! It was an undercover cop!'

'He pulls me over and I just lost it. I'm such a goody-two-shoes. So when he opens the passenger door, I just sat crying. Crying so hard that he backs out of the car going "You're alright, you're alright".

And I'm like "Officer I'm so sorry. I just panicked and I'm just a mum." My two-year-old is in the car looking like this is the best day of his life!'

Wilson said that the police officer took pity on her as her tears continued to gush at the time.

'The guy was so shocked at how upset I was — I was so shocked — that he ended up letting me off with a warning, which he absolutely should not have done. I still feel I should send him some money 12 years later.'

Wilson had moved across the ditch from Christchurch to Melbourne in 2003 where she appeared on the sketch show Skithouse.

The comedian had performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 14 times. She also featured in her own Netflix stand-up special.
