The pair engaged in a funny tit-for-tat exchange on photo-sharing site Instagram, which saw Vanessa make a gentler dig at Mollie's random photograph.

Posting a shot of herself in bed with her pet dog, Mollie King wrote: 'I love waking up to this little face' while posing in a grey vest top.

Make-up free, the singer also boasted bed-head hair and blurry eyes as she posed for the shot.

Minutes later Vanessa uploaded a picture, also against white bedding, of her pet dog s her face with the caption: 'Just woke up #NoMakeUp #Selfie'.

Recently, The Saturdays singer joined forces with the British Heart Foundation for its 'Ramp Up The Red' campaign, which asks members of the public to dress in red on February 7th to raise money for the charity.

King, whose grandfather died following a heart attack when she was younger, commented: 'Whether it's wearing some red make-up, donning some striking scarlet red trousers, a traffic-stopping little red dress or painting your nails a racy red shade, join me and go as red as you dare on the day.'
