Cover role models! Laverne Cox joins other transgender stars on pull-out front of transsexual style magazine Candy
Laverne Cox joined other transgender role models on the cover of fashion magazine Candy for its fifth anniversary issue.
The 30-year-old Orange Is The New Black star wore a long tan dress with a high thigh slit as she was surrounded in the fold-out cover by Janet Mock, Carmen Carrera and Geena Rocero.
Laverne earlier this year became the first openly transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy Award for her portrayal of stylist Sophia Burset in the prison-based Netflix series.

She also graced the cover of Time in June as she became the first openly transgender person to appear on the magazine's cover.
Candy magazine editor Luis Venegas, 35, launched Candy in 2009 as the 'first transveral style magazine' and named it after Andy Warhol superstar Candy Darling.
'I’m very happy and deeply grateful that Candy has such a loyal and enthusiastic audience. I think probably that has happened not just because of the subjects featured in the magazine, but also because it has such a glamorous, celebratory, and joyful tone,' Venegas told Style.com in an article on Monday.

Laverne loaned her voice in October to the hour-long documentary The T Word that profiled young transgender children transitioning into their teenage years.
Cox in August told The Associated Press that she was filming the third season of Orange Is The New Black and revealed the plot was thickening.
'I can't tell you who I had scenes with ... (but) the scene we shot today was juicy. I was like, ''Oh my god.'' Stuff goes down," she said.
