'I can be vulnerable and emotional': Mel B reveals her softer side as she poses in elegant photo shoot for magazine interview
Mel B has become one of the year's most talked-about stars, following her move back to the UK from Australia and being signed up as one of the X Factor judges.
And the former Spice Girl has addressed the public's opinion on her - as a continuation of her feisty alter-ego Scary Spice - admitting that she's actually got a softer side that people don't see.
Speaking to Grazia magazine, the music and TV star said: 'I know that in the past I've been seen as this tough, ballsy woman who doesn't care, has no emotions, but I can be vulnerable and emotional.'

A softer - and more fashionable - side: Mel B showed off her style prowess in a high-fashion shoot for Grazia magazine, while discussing her 'vulnerable and emotional' side
She added: 'I'm human. I think the public only saw one side to me, but if they'd looked they'd have seen every side. Someone who's known me for 16 years said recently, "You haven't changed, you're the same girl. It's just people are looking at you more than before."'
Along with her honest and candid interview, the 39-year-old X Factor judge posed for a set of stunning pictures for the magazine taken by photographer Nick Haddow.
In one particular shot, she shows off her fashion prowess in a taupe printed Vivienne Westwood gown and a feather skirt worn as a jacket over her shoulder.
A successful season: As well as impressing audiences with her no-nonsense demeanour on the show, and coming in at third place with Andrea Faustini, Mel also made herself a fashion icon of 2014
Upping her style game: Mel has continuously wowed on this year's series of X Factor in her high-end outfits
She oozed confidence with her hair slicked back in a sleek style down, while her make-up was kept relatively pared-down and in similar tones to her high-fashion ensemble.
She touched on a little more about her spirited personality, of which has been the source of much discussion during her time on the X Factor as a no-nonsense judge.

'I'm a fighter, I'm proud of what I have achieved, not just in my career but as a woman. I've been through many ups and downs and I've come out of it a stronger person,' she added, hinting that anything that comes her way, she is more than equipped to deal with.
Indeed, it was her naturally outspoken demeanour that won her the role on Simon Cowell's TV talent show, spicing up the programme with her brilliant put-downs and honest words to the hopeful singers... and her fellow judges.
The star won rave reviews of her judging skills while on the panel alongside Simon and fellow judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Louis Walsh, her most memorable remark being to a die-hard Cheryl fan who couldn't stop gushing about her during his audition.
'What am I?' she asked, incredulously. 'Chopped liver?'
She had a pretty successful run on the latest series, which saw Simon's act Ben Haenow take the title of champion, with her act Andrea Faustini ending the show in third place.
She pulled no punches during her time on the show and, as well as gaining a new league of followers for her attitude, she also became quite the fashion star.
In the interview, she touched on her newly-discovered sense of style, which she showed off week after week during the auditions and then on the live shows.
Her fashion prowess even rivalled that of Cheryl, who has long been thought of as one of the UK's top stylistas.
Gone are her Scary Spice, head-to-toe leopard print days, and in their place a more demure set of garments, often worn in neutral colours and in the most flattering of cuts to enhance her naturally lithe and sporty frame.
She revealed her new stylist Jason Bolde on the show wanted her to rock a different aesthetic.
'He wanted to give me a sleeker, more chic look, and he's done wonders,' she praised, adding that her hair made all the difference to her style.
'With shorter hair you have to be conscious of what to wear, because you don't want to look to boyish.
'You want to stay looking ladylike.'
