Kitchen chaos! Young lovebirds Annie and Lloyd's raw squid sends them packing on MKR while mother-daughter-duo Celine and Vicky just scrape through
My Kitchen Rules farewelled theatrical lovebirds, Annie and Lloyd on Monday night's episode after the pair failed to trump and equally shambolic Celine and Vicky.
It was the very first sudden death elimination round and the first time teams cooked at MKR HQ this season.
The mother-daughter-duo and high school sweethearts were cheered on by safe contestants from the rafters and judged by celebrity chefs, Guy Grosi, Karen Martini, Liz Egan and Colin Fassnidge.

Farewelled: Theatrical lovebirds Annie and Lloyd were eliminated on Monday night's episode
The formidable foodies from previous seasons would be returning for each elimination where they would join Manu Feildel and Pete Evans to give one couple the chop.
With an hour-and-a-half on the clock, the teams were off and racing to cheers from above.
Annie and Lloyd looked calm as they got started on their entree of grilled squid with fennel and pomegranate salad and their main of miso salmon with tempura mushrooms.
But it was their dessert of chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice-cream that they were most concerned about.
They got a kick start on that before even thinking about their squid dish which of course was to be served an hour-and-a-half ahead of sweets.
Under the heat: It was the couple's dessert of chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice-cream that they were most concerned about
Seafood based: The lovey dovey duo served an entree of grilled squid with fennel and pomegranate salad and main of miso salmon with tempura mushrooms
Meanwhile over the other side of MKR HQ, Vicky and Celine were working on their entree of grilled lemon and garlic prawns and a beef moussaka for main.
For dessert they were dishing up a rosewater rizogalo 'with a twist'.
The happy-go-lucky ladies told viewers that their food same from the heart because each dish was a family recipe.
Lloyd began to stress and words of encouragement from his flamed-haired girlfriend weren't helping.
Annie took her time working on the ice-cream while her love was left to do bits of each dish.
The mother-daughter-duo were working at a more synchronised pace, but a visit from Pete to their work bench made them doubt their ability.
Raw: Unfortunately for Annie, her entree was deemed undercooked and labelled 'car crash' by Colin, costing her valuable points
Good job: Annie and Lloyd shared a moment of affection when the judges called time on the preparations
Celine used sweet chili sauce straight from the bottle in her mayonnaise: 'What are you doing young lady?' he asked, puzzled at her choice to use the supermarket condiment instead of creating something some scratch.
'I know it's high illegal to put sweet chili sauce in it but it tastes good!' she said, before deciding to start again, sans sweet chili sauce from the bottle.
With just 30-minutes left on the clock until their entree needed to be served, Annie and Lloyd were still focused on their dessert, and hadn't started on their squid and salad entree.
As the clocked ticked away at the speed of light, it was finally time to serve the first dishes of the day.
Unaware of who cooked what, the guest judges tucked into Celine and Vicky's first.
Close shave: The couple only just squeezed past an equally shambolic Celine and Vicky
All over: It was an emotional farewell, with the two rivals hugging after going head to head
'It's a nice dish, it's not an amazing dish,' Colin said.
Guy mentioned that one of his prawns was underdone, while Pete asked, 'Where's the excitement?... for me it's quite average.'
Annie and Lloyd's squid was next on the chopping block, and while it looked pretty, Colin refused to eat his and labelled it a 'car crash.'
The judges were devastated after finding that the squid was raw and flavourless.
Hoping to turn it around with their next course, the teams waltzed back into HQ with an hour on the clock to serve up their main.
Annie and Lloyd looked more relaxed this time around, working on their salmon like naturals, while Celine and Vicky worked on their moussaka, a traditional Greek meal they knew well.
The ladies from Adelaide hit a hurdle when they ran out of white sauce for their main, having to whip up more with only minutes on the clock.
Skeptical: Judges Pete and Manu watched on as the chaos unfolded
Vicky and Celine served an entree of grilled lemon and garlic prawns and a beef moussaka for main
It wasn't long before the young couple, also from Adelaide, ran into trouble.
With 20-minutes left on the clock, Annie destroyed their tempura batter for the mushrooms, but fear not, Lloyd stepped in and saved the day with 18-minutes to go.
Time flew quickly and mains were served.
Annie and Lloyd's salmon was taste-tested first and with much better results.
'This dish is like the team has been replaced by another team,' Irishman Colin admitted.
All round, the couple got a thumbs up from judges and contestants alike.
Moussaka was next on the menu and it was very underdone and left nothing but the taste of raw potato on their palettes.
'Is it the best moussaka?' Manu quizzed, before adding, 'I think not.'
Finally the teams had just one dish to serve, and it was down to the wire.
They had just 30-minutes on the clock and the young lovers were already way behind time, and even Celine and Vicky felt like they'd already stuffed up their Greek rice pudding.
Kitchen HQ was complete chaos and time was getting away quickly but both teams forged on, all while sweating bullets.
Not happy: The judges were disappointed when Celine used sweet chili sauce straight from the bottle in her mayonnaise, with Pete saying, 'What are you doing young lady?'
Yum: The girls' a beef moussaka for main was followed by a rosewater rizogalo 'with a twist'
'This is the worse way to finish a sudden death cook off,' a heart-broken Lloyd confessed.
'It's just a sloppy mess. We haven't made ourselves safe tonight,' his girlfriend moaned.
Meanwhile, Celine and Vicky looked quite confident.
'It's sudden death cook off and I don't think it's good enough,' Manu said of their traditional Greek dessert.
Finally, Annie and Lloyd's was given a try and the barely cooked dish was panned at first glance.
'But the flavour is good,' Liz said, offering a glimmer of hope.
The judges ripped Celine and Vicky's three courses to shreds, and rarely complimented the women as they awaited the professional's scoring.
The pair earned a dismal combined score of 27 from a possible 60.
Annie and Lloyd were next to face the firing squad and they copped a similar fate.
The upside was their salmon which was described as something a top chef would create.
But that wasn't enough to save the happy couple from being safe from elimination, going down by five points.
