Breakfast Club reunion! Molly Ringwald joins Ally Sheedy to celebrate teen movie's 30th anniversary at SXSW festival
The Breakfast Club followed a bunch of rowdy teens forced to spend a Saturday together in school detention under the guardianship of a villainous principal.
Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy were brought back together to celebrate the iconic 1985 film's 30th Anniversary Restoration on Monday during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Molly, now 47 and a blonde, was a few shades lighter than her red-haired alter ego Claire Standish, the princess of the group, but youthfully vibrant as ever.

The Breakfast Club are back: Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy were on hand to help celebrate the 30th Anniversary Restoration of the 1985 teen film The Breakfast Club at SXSW festival in Austin, TX on Monday
And Ally, 52, had a savvy sophisticated air about her that resembled nothing like Allison Reynolds, the funny basket case she played in the movie.
Molly, a mother-of-three, looked bright in a white embellished frock with lace-edged hem as she attended the event held at the Paramount Theatre.
Sheer stockings and pointy, pink-accented heels added a touch of class while her décolletage was decorated with a single necklace.
Cult favourite: The Breakfast Club was a 1985 hit starring, L to R, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez and Molly Ringwald as a bunch of high school teens forced to endure Saturday detention
Happy: Molly, now 47, and Ally, now 52, were thrilled to see the restored version of the John Hughes classic
Contrast of colours: While Molly wowed in a white embellished lace frock, Ally went with a basic black dress with black leather boots
Ally, who has one daughter, Rebecca, from a previous marriage, chose a loose-fitting black dress that fluttered to the ankles, and worn with black leather boots.
Her raven-dark locks were styled wavy and allowed to fall to her shoulders, while her wrists were each adorned with bracelets.
The actresses had fun posing together arm-in-arm on the red carpet and later took part in a Q&A on stage where they spoke about the film that launched them to stardom three decades ago.
Standing their ground: It was hard to believe that 30 years has gone by while looking at these two
Any questions? The stars of the iconic film took part in a Q&A on stage in front of a listening audience
The anniversary edition Blu-ray is released in the UK on 6th April from Universal Pictures (UK).
The Breakfast Club also starred Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall and Paul Gleason as the assistant high school principal.
Molly previously expressed her admiration for John Hughes masterpiece to Us Weekly in 2010, saying: 'There's been nothing to replace it. Until something comes along that can hold a candle to these movies, they will continue to be what they are.'
Remember when: Molly and Ally reminisced about the movie, their director John Hughes and the song by Simple Minds Don't You (Forget About Me) that will forever be associated with it
Teen angst: Ally played the lovable basket case Allison Reynolds while the then red-haired Molly portrayed the slightly stuck up Claire Standish
And earlier this month she told Today's Samantha Guthrie: 'I always loved the script, and I loved the movie, but I never imagined that we would be talking about it 30 years later.'
Of course, Molly also starred in John Huges' Sixteen Candles (1984) and Pretty In Pink (1986).
Judd Nelson, 55, was also on the Today show recently and spoke about The Breakfast Club, telling Guthrie: 'You always hope on every project that it's special, that it will stand the test of time, but you never really know. I'm surprised, but pleasantly.'
