'We came home. Not to die. But to live' : Heartbreak for country duo as Rory Feek reveals wife Joey, 40, has terminal cancer and is stopping treatment to be home with their baby daughter
Country singer Joey Feek is stopping treatment for stage 4 cancer after tests showed the disease has spread despite aggressive chemotherapy over the summer.
Her husband and music partner Rory Feek announced the news on Friday via his blog This Life I Live.
'Sometimes there just aren’t enough surgeries — or doctors — or chemotherapies — or prayers. And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say.... Enough,' he wrote.

'So we did what you do when the medicine isn’t working, and the doctors are at a loss…and when the ‘statistics' say you can do more chemo, but it will only buy you a little time…' Rory added.
'We came home. Not to die. But to live.'
The couple, who perform as country duo Joey + Rory, have canceled all of their Farmhouse Tour concerts scheduled for November and December.

Joey, 40, was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in June 2014 about three months after the birth of the couple's daughter Indiana, who has Down syndrome.
Initial treatment appeared to have worked and after undergoing surgery she made a full recovery.
But it returned and despite more rounds of grueling chemotherapy, Rory revealed a CT scan showed tumors had spread throughout her abdominal region.
Rory said they are now back at their farm in Tennessee and taking each moment as it comes.
'So we don’t have forever. We’ve got right now. And that’s enough,' he wrote on his blog.
Enough: Rory wrote that the time had come to accept treatment wasn't working and the couple decided it was time to come home 'not to die but to live' with their 'little pumpkin' Indiana
The devoutly Christian pair are also asking fans to pray for them.
'Even though we know we’ve reached the end of what medicine can do — and while we prepare for what God has put in front of us… Joey and I will continue to pray for a miracle,' Rory wrote.
'We ask for your prayers too. For a miracle. And even more so, for peace with His decision,' he said.
