'Sometimes it's a little bit stressful': Christie Hayes reflects on the pressure of raising two sons... after falling pregnant just SIX WEEKS on from birth of first child

Her nine-year period on long-running soap Home And Away was not without incident, but while life has certainly changed for Christie Hayes following her departure from Summer Bay, it is no less peaceful.

The 29-year old actress is embracing another, altogether more demanding role as doting mother to young sons Hendrix and Harley following their birth just 11-months apart.

Reflecting on the sudden nature of her second pregnancy, Christie admits having two children in quick succession comes with its own inevitable pressure.

'Sometimes it's a little bit stressful having them so close together, but we're hoping they will grow up as best friends,' she told New Idea

The Australian star fell pregnant with Harley, who was born at Sydney's Royal Hospital for Women on September 4, just six weeks after giving birth to Hendrix - her first child with British fiancé Daniel White.

'Daniel is the most brilliant father, so natural and playful, but I think we're done with any more babies,' she said. 'This is it, at least for five or six years - not months or weeks!'

The actress admitted to being stunned after discovering she had fallen pregnant so soon after the birth of her first child - because she 'didn't think it was possible.'

'It was an immense shock,' she said. 'I felt I hadn't had a chance to not be pregnant.'

Her suspicions were raised when she started suffering tell-tale signs of morning sickness - including nausea and fatigue - three months after welcoming Hendrix into the world.

A home pregnancy test, followed by a consultation with her doctor, confirmed her initial thoughts - and she admits wine broker Daniel was thrilled when she finally broke the news.

Christie, whose Home And Away character Kirsty Sutherland experienced two miscarriages, previously revealed her joy at learning of her first pregnancy in 2014.

The screen star admitted that she and her beau were both 'speechless' and 'so happy' after two dark lines appeared on the test at home.

'We'd planned to have a baby but had no idea it'd happen so quickly,' she told Woman's Day at the time.
