If anyone has heard the screeches of a cat in heat, it's not usually how one would typically compliment a world-class singer's performance.

But that's exactly how The Bachelor's Heather Maltman, 29, described Delta Goodrem in the Sydney production of Cats The Musical on Sunday night.

The actress-turned-catty commentator took to social media with her unusual review, where she also spruiked another unusual ensemble.

'Everyone knows that musicals hurt my soul, but I wanted to give Cats a go because I do enjoy the odd feline companion,' Sam Wood's ex started out.

'Turns out still not for me, but damn Delta can sing like a b**** on heat.'

Feeling a little lost about the plotline, Heather also added: 'If anyone knows what Cats is about feel free to fill me in. I'm so lost! #whoops At least my outfit was fresh.'

Heather wore a black Mariam Seddiq number on the night that skimmed her curves to perfection.

Strategically placed beaded lace covered her modesty on the top half and the same pattern swirled down her arms.

Black peep-toes and a navy blue clutch helped complete her look.

Not on her arm on the night was her new boyfriend Andrew Steel, 31, and instead she was accompanied by a female friend and model Samantha Harris.

The slender beauty stunned in a royal blue halter-neck jumpsuit and simple but chic tanned sandals.

Heather's fellow competitors Sarah Mackay and Jacinda Gugliemino also hung out together on the red carpet on the night.
