Holding her head up high, Flack put on a confident display on arrival at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Posing for photographers, Caroline smouldered as she stood with both hands in her pockets and worked the angles.

Standing tall, the television presenter teamed her tailored number with black mesh stilettos as she wore her hair in loose waves, styled in a centre part, and went heavy on the eyeliner.

Over the weekend, Caroline and Olly came under attack from X Factor fans who deemed their presenting 'awkward' and 'cringe-worthy'.

The first five minutes of Sunday's results show was awash with awkward glances, long pauses and over-enthusiastic shouting, which didn't go unpunished from eagle-eyed viewers.

As a result it didn't take long for the hashtag #bringbackdermot to gather momentum as fans wrote about how they 'missed' the smooth on-air skills of former host Dermot O'Leary.

One Twitter user wrote: 'Can you double eliminate Olly Murs and Caroline Flack? They are worse than the #XFactor Group Song.'

While another added: 'Never seen anything more painful than Olly Murs and Caroline Flack trying to host @TheXFactor.'

But determined not to let the negativity get to her, on Monday Flack tweeted: 'Thanks for all your lovely tweets from the weekend! I am having a blast presenting the show!'

However a seemingly uncertain Olly wrote on Sunday: 'strange show for me tonight @TheXFactor last 10mins was a blur!! proper weird for me!!'
