The Dallas star - who sported his signature dark five o'clock shadow and sunglasses - is due to appear as Attorney Tom Endler in God's Not Dead 2 released on April 1 next year.
Jesse can also be seen in upcoming drama Destined, which follows stories in parallel worlds.
The actor has been dating Cara since 2009, and last year the couple denied rumours that they are engaged.
