Stars shared what they're thankful for on Thanksgiving Day and for many, it's their loved ones and especially their children.

While some celebrities posted fun photos offering a glimpse into how they're spending turkey day, others like Drew Barrymore, Lily Aldridge and Kelly Clarkson said they were giving thanks for their little ones. 

Actress and producer Drew Barrymore shared a photo showing her hugging one of her daughters against the backdrop of a river spanned by a large bridge with the caption: 'I am truly grateful today.'

Drew has two girls Olive and Frankie with husband Will Kopelman, who she credits with taking the snap.

Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge had a helping hand in the kitchen Thanksgiving morning from her three-year-old daughter Dixie Pearl.

The youngster, still in her pajamas, was photographed basting a turkey with a large basting brush.

Lily, who's married to King Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill, described Dixie as 'Mommy's little helper' followed by two heart emojis.

Jurassic World star Chris Pratt showed his creative side with a Happy Thanksgiving meme.

It showed his face and those of wife Jaime King and son Jack imposed on characters in a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving painting.

'Grateful for so much,' he wrote, adding that he'd loaded up his family in a truck and headed off for a four-day weekend 'to a beautiful destination in the woods.'

Jessa Duggar Seewald updated her blog to share new pics of her first child who was born November 5.

'This Thanksgiving, one of the things we are grateful for is our precious little son, Spurgeon Elliot,' said Jessa, who's been married to Ben Seewald for one year.

Thanksgiving started bright and early for Kelly Clarkson who shared a photo she took of baby daughter River sitting with her eyes closed against a backdrop of skyscrapers.

The first American Idol winner, who's expecting her second child, a boy, wrote that she's 'so thankful for my amazing family and friends. Especially this little nugget :)'

The singer joked that her one-year-old was 'meditating' adding the hashtag:  #sheistotallythinkingaboutfood.' 

Britney Spears shared a pic of herself with her two sons with Kevin Federline, sister Jamie Lynn and her brother Bryan in front of an enormous decorated Christmas tree. 'Happy gobble gobble,' she wrote

Food and family was also featured in social media snaps from Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.

In one, she's cuddling up to husband Mauricio Umansky as he carved up a roasted bird in the kitchen of their home.

Kyle, 46, shared the photo with the message: 'Thankful for so many things...I hope you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving.'

She also shared a snap of her husband asleep in bed with the family's German Shepherd out cold next to him on the pillows with its paw resting on one of their sleeping daughters.  

Cindy Crawford gave thanks for her husband Rande Gerber and kids Presley and Kaia by sharing a throwback photo of them together on Thursday.

Food and drink was another big theme in celebrity Thanksgiving posts on Twitter and Instagram.

Reese Witherspoon was gearing up for a fabulous feast and shared an insight into her table decorations on her Instagram account. 

The Wild star posted a picture of a muffin decorated to look like a turkey with root vegetables fanned out around it as a tail of feathers.

'Gobble gobble countdown!!' the 39-year-old actress wrote.

And he had no qualms about getting the party started.
