Battle of the bust! Pia Miller and Megan Gale go head to head in cleavage baring gowns at the AACTA Awards... but who wore it best?

On a night dedicated to red carpet couture it was almost inevitable that Home & Away siren Pia Miller would shine - but her revealing display was easily matched by fellow guest Megan Gale at the fifth Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards on Wednesday evening.

Both opted for plunging fitted gowns that displayed plenty of cleavage while accentuating their famously toned physiques as they made their way into Sydney's lavish Star Casino ahead of the annual ceremony.

Pia, 32, looked typically stunning in a bold white variation from bridal designer Leah Da Gloria, and its neutral colour proved proved to be the perfect compliment for her olive skin tone.

With an eye-catching thigh-high slash and pleated sleeves, the outfit ensured she stood out as she mingled with an array of guests shortly before the ceremony got underway.

But it was the plunging neckline and prominent cleavage that guaranteed maximum exposure for the sultry mother-of-two.

Likewise Megan, 40, opted for her own revealing gown from designer Paolo Sebastian ahead of her appearance at the annual event, and it caught the eye as she made her way inside.

The plunging neckline ensured the model and actress - who starred in Best Feature Film award winner Mad Max: Fury Road - put on an equally busty display, while its intricate design offered an alternative to the plain white sported by Pia.

Indeed, the pair appeared to outdo one another as they posed for photos outside the venue, their bronzed cleavage on full display.

The model appeared to be without husband Shaun Hampson on the night, while Pia was alone following her recent separation from husband Brad Miller.

Meanwhile a chunky statement ring proved to be Megan's only accessory on the night, and it was visible as she ran a hand through her hair.

The pair were on hand to see Cate Blanchett presented with the AACTA Longford Lyell Award by actors Richard Roxborough and Hugo Weaving.

Filmed tributes from the film makers Ridley Scott and Martin Scorsese will also be screened on the night.
