Last month Daniel MacPherson announced that he had married his fiancée Zoe Ventoura in a secret ceremony at the end of November.

And on Wednesday, the couple made their first red carpet appearance since tying the knot at the AACTA Awards at The Star in Sydney.

While the Neighbours star cut a dashing figure in a black suit, Zoe held her own in a Grecian-inspired red dress with a plunging neckline.

Dan teamed the sharp suit with a black and white spotted tie and patent black shoes, while Zoe accessorised with a simple silver necklace.

Her curled brunette locks were parted to the side, and pulled into a low ponytail. 

The floor-length frock boasted a scarlet hue that complemented the Australian actress' olive skin. 

The happy twosome couldn't wipe the smiles from their faces as they posed against the media wall and answered reporters' questions on the red carpet.

Her new husband shared it to Twitter with the caption: 'Two of WA's finest here at the @AACTAs tonight'.

This will be the second week in a row Dan is spending an evening at The Star as last week, he attended the Summer Hits launch event at the casino venue.

And while his wife wasn't by his side, the actor proudly showed off his wedding ring as he walked the red carpet.

'We had a very private little family affair in Queensland,' he told Richard Wilkins of the wedding.

'It’s a very special place for us and my family and we celebrated in true Australian style at the beach club over the weekend which was up in sunshine coast.'

Joking about the pair's ability to keep their nuptials private, he added: 'We did keep it quiet!' 

'We did a good job, didn’t we? You try getting 100 people up to Queensland without telling anybody.'

Dan also joked about the fact that he wasn't on his honeymoon.

He gushed: 'What a good wife. "Honey, I’ve got to go back to Syndey after our wedding to go to the casino.

'I’ve been paid to go eat and drink, I’ll do a bit of gambling, hang out with all of our friends…" And she lets me go by myself. She’s a rock star.'  

Wed: Former Neighbours star Dan married Zoe in an intimate ceremony in Noosa, Queensland in 2015. They met on the set of Wild Boys in 2011 and were engaged four years later
