Lavish lifestyles: Eric Bana has admitted Ricky Gervais's latest Instagram images maybe a little smoke and mirrors, admitting in an interview with Hamish & Andy on Tuesday that the comedian doesn't have a private jet
The Aussie actor explained the jet wasn't owned by either of the stars, but merely borrowed to shoot a short, 15-minute section of the film.
'We couldn't afford to go up in a private jet, so they let us loan one for about 15 minutes - that we could walk on and walk off,' Eric said, adding the plane was firmly on the tarmac.
It was during this window that Ricky got out his phone and started snapping.
'He gets his phone out and starts selfie-ing up a storm and has been tweeting them as though we are the Rolling Stones travelling the world.'
'The reason he's doing it, is because he wants all the Netflix cast members of all the other shows to get really angry with Netflix,' he added said, explaining Ricky wanted to look like he had a bigger budget than other films.
'Why do I fill up my plane myself?' Ricky uploaded a photo to Instagram while joking that despite his fame and fortune, he hasn't lost touch with society
In one photo, the two actors sit happily in the luxurious looking private jet sipping drinks, with the caption: 'Eric can't believe his luck, getting a lift to New York for the premier of Special Correspondents on his hero's jet'.
Another shot, also uploaded by Ricky, appears to show him filling up the jet's tank and the caption reads: 'Some say I've lost touch with reality & everyday chores. If that's true then why do I still fill up my plane myself?'
Some people may have been able to detect the comedian's sarcasm, however Eric finally cleared things up during the interview with the Australian duo.
Big budget? Eric explained that Ricky wanted to make other Netflix productions jealous of their supposedly extra large budget for the their new film, Special Correspondents, written and directed by Ricky
Their new film, Special Correspondents, which has been written and directed by Ricky, is now streaming on Netflix.
The film follows two radio journalists, played by Eric and Ricky, who are sent to Ecuador on a job, only to lose their passports and money and find themselves stuck in New York.
They get creative and decide to fake their reports from above a Spanish restaurant instead.
Radio hosts Hamish Blake and Andy Lee were in hysterics listening to Eric reveal the true story about the jet
