'I don't do sickies': Piers Morgan confirms he WILL return to Good Morning Britain despite being struck down with nasty ‘stomach issues’ after festive break
He was set to return to Good Morning Britain on Monday morning, reuniting with co-host Susanna Reid after a festive break.
But Piers Morgan's long-awaited return to breakfast TV was put in jeopardy, after revealing to fans he had been struck down with 'acute stomach-related issues.'
The 52-year-old tweeted on Sunday afternoon that he was also suffering from a 'raging fever', leading fans to panic that he would not appear on morning TV.

Piers tweeted: 'So, 16 hours before I’m due back on @GMB & I have a raging fever & rather acute.. ahem... ‘stomach-related issues’. Could make for some rather interesting live TV. Can you bring a bucket @susannareid100?'
Fans rushed to wish Piers well, hoping he would be well enough to appear on the ITV breakfast show.
One fan tweeted: 'Trump finally get to you too eh?' while another cheekily probed: 'Laying the ground for a sick day!!'

But it seemed GMB viewers should not worry too much, as one fan begged Piers not to 'throw a sickie' to which the Life Stories frontman responded: 'I don't do sickies.'
The broadcast pro confirmed to MailOnline on Sunday night that there was no doubt he would be returning on Monday morning.
Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway have been holding down the fort this week in Piers and Susanna's absence.

Piers made an early return to screens on Thursday, as his long-awaited interview with Caitlyn Jenner aired as part of his Life Stories series, and fans praised the reality TV star for being so open about her gender transition.
One tweeted: 'There is nothing in this interview so far that isn't hugely positive for helping trans understanding. It is a difficult subject and @piersmorgan is asking good questions while @Caitlyn_Jenner's answers are open, honest and genuine.'
