David Arquette says his 'near-death experience' after having neck slashed during a 2018 wrestling match taught him to 'stop being self-destructive'
He's previously admitted he's 'lucky to be alive' in the wake of a bloody 2018 wrestling death match.
And David Arquette has spoken about turning his life around in the wake of the match against Nick Gage, during which his neck was slashed by a cylindrical light bulb.
'I let go of so much pain I was holding onto,' the Scream actor told People on Wednesday.

He has previously admitted to struggles with addiction, as well as grief over the 2016 death of sibling Alexis.
David also spoke about the 'daredevil aspect about the way I lived life' prior to the accident.
But after narrowly escaping death in the ring, 'I learned to love myself,' said the brother of Patricia Arquette.
'I had to stop being self-destructive and making choices that were throwing bombs.'

The veteran actor added he's no longer 'worried about the future,' instead 'trying to live in the moment.'
'I'm not invincible and there have been times in my life where I didn't want to go on. But I'm proud of my kids, I'm proud of my wife, and I'm proud of my family. And when you start to like yourself, it's easier to feel at peace,' said Arquette.
He's been married to Christine McLarty since 2015, after having previously been wed to Courteney Cox from 1999-2013.
Arquette and McLarty share two young children, while he and Cox share daughter Coco, 16.

Arquette described his injuries to People at the time: 'Sometimes they use those florescent light tubes and I got cut and started seeing dripping blood and I panicked,' the actor said.
'I turned around too quickly and the end of a broken bulb got me in my neck. It was gruesome.'
'If I had been cut in the jugular, I probably wouldn't be here right now,' the Eight Legged Freaks star told the magazine in 2018.
David has long dabbled with wrestling, having famously won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship title in 2000.
His near-death experience is chronicled in the new documentary You Cannot Kill David Arquette, available on-demand August 28.
