Twiggy has revealed she turned down none other than Hollywood heartthrob Steve McQueen at a party in Los Angeles when he asked her to dance.
The legendary supermodel, 70, recalled how she was at a party thrown for her by Sonny and Cher when Steve, who died in 1980 aged 50, arrived on a motorbike.
Speaking on the Table Manners podcast, Twiggy admitted that although she found the actor, nicknamed the King of Cool, 'gorgeous', she said no to his offer.

She recalled: 'I was flying around the world and being given parties where Clint Eastwood was there and Barbra Streisand. It was mad... Sonny and Cher threw me a party.
'One of the biggest film stars was Steve McQueen – he was gorgeous.
'I was 17 and I was with my boyfriend and Steve McQueen turned up on his motorbike. We got introduced and he asked me to dance – and I said no.'
It has been claimed that Twiggy was 'too shy' to dance with the actor, who was the highest paid movie star in the world in 1974.

Twiggy, who became a British cultural icon during the 60s, went on to marry American actor Michael Witney in 1977 until his his death in 1983 aged 52.
She has been married to the actor Leigh Lawson, 75, since 1988.
Twiggy became known for her slender frame in the early days of her career, which earned her her nickname, as well as her androgynous appearance.
She later enjoyed a successful acting career and also became a judge on America's Next Top Model from 2005 to 2007.
