Taking a break from the usual Sunrise studios in Sydney, Samantha Armytage was looking forward to putting her best fashion foot forward on Tuesday for the 2015 Melbourne Cup.

But it looks like the 39-year-old television star struggled in her step, appearing to stumble slightly as she made her way through Flemington Racecourse before 10am. 

Sporting a bright Karen Gee Custom Coral Lace and Ink Navy dress, the blonde beauty's towering navy wedged shoes seemed to deceive her as she walked across the grass with a Channel Seven microphone in hand.

Samantha's race day frock hugged her curvy figure, while she decided to coordinate her headpiece with her shoes. 

The television personality sported a boater hat designed by Ann Shoebridge, complete with a navy band complementing her footwear. 

Finishing just below her knees, a glimpse of Samantha's legs were on show for all to see.

No doubt taking some style risks on Australia's biggest racing day, her dress also featured black collared detail across the high neckline. 

Taking to her Instagram, Samantha shared a closeup snap revealing details about her stylish look. 

'HAPPY MELBOURNE CUP DAY from Flemington,' the bubbly blonde wrote to her social media followers.

The sweet selfie showcased her immaculate makeup, the master work of makeup artist Kim Anderson on this occasion. 

Samantha's baby blue eyes were accentuated with lashings of jet black eyeliner, while her pout was painted a luscious light pink. 

Broadcasting live from the race track from 6:00am, she was joined by co-host David 'Kochie' Koch.

The 59-year-old media personality was suited and booted for Melbourne Cup, slipping on a dark grey suit teamed with a crisp white shirt.

Adding a splash of colour to his look, he sported a printed tie featuring hints of purple, green and white. 

Taking to Instagram early in the morning, he shared his thrill at being down at the racetrack ahead of an action-filled day. 

Kochie wrote to his social media followers: 'The pounding of the hooves and snorting of the nostrils from track work. The screeching of the gulls. The crispness in the air. The early dawn rays of the sun. It is just beautiful here at Flemington before the madness of Melbourne Cup Day'.
