Alison Hammond made an emotional apology to her son for 'not always being there' as she received the Role Model Award at the MBCC in Birmingham.
The presenter, 49, was among the stars in attendance at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, on Saturday.
Alison scooped the Inspirational Honorary Role Model Award at the event, where she was joined by son Aidan.
The This Morning and Great British Bake Off host gave a touching speech as she accepted her award - declaring all her hard work had been for Aidan.
'I love you so much son and I'm sorry I haven't always been there but I'll be honest with you, the reason I was doing it, was only for you,' she said.
Wiping away a tear, Alison added: 'I'm getting emotional as I don't normally get recognised for things like this.

It comes as Alison, who shares her son with her ex Noureddine Boufaied, is about to star with Aidan in a new BBC travelogue series where the pair discover Florida, airing next month.
The Birmingham audience cheered Alison on as she added: 'I have worked so hard. When they said I couldn't do things, I did them.
'Don't let anyone hold you back, if you have a dream go for it.'
She added: 'And you can be unashamedly you, just like I have been, your authentic self, you do not have to change for anyone.'
Alison put on a glamorous display for the evening as she sported a chic black figure-hugging gown – the same choice as awards host, Judi Love.
The pair laughed together on the red carpet as they showcased their identical outfits.

After Alison's acceptance speech, Judi paid tribute to her, for always having her back saying, 'when I was starting out and people were telling me I couldn't do it, it was Alison who told me to not give up and keep going.'
At the event, Beverley Knight praised Brummie Alison as 'one of our own.' 'Being from the West Midlands it's great to see Alison on the TV every morning,' she said.
The ceremony also celebrated legends Annie Lennox, Levi Roots and Chelsea's first Black player Paul Canoville, who overcame bigotry, illness and addiction.
Alison recently revealed that her son Aidan is great at giving relationship advice about her lover David Putman, 26, but admits she overshares.
She made a rare comment about her love life after her romance with her toyboy boyfriend David was revealed earlier this year.
Alison and Aidan appeared in a social media video last month as part of a teaser for new gameshow Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening.

Alison and Aidan appeared in a social media video last month as part of a teaser for new gameshow Romesh Ranganathan 's Parents' Evening
In the teaser clip, the pair were asked certain questions and had to vote who was better at each topic, with one question being: 'Who's better at giving advice?'
Aidan believed he was better at advice which shocked Alison at first before she then partly agreed saying: 'When it comes to relationship advice you're very good!'
But she added: 'But when it comes to career advice I'm not sure!'
They were then asked who was the biggest oversharer and both voted for Alison - with Alison admitting: 'Yeah maybe I overshare a little bit. I'll probably overshare in the show!'
