Tari Maate Once More Movie Review
Critic's Rating: 3.0/5
Story: A roller coaster ride that this movie is, it revolves around six friends—Mihir, Tara, Ayesha, Harry, Maggie and Jaadu, who are brought together by circumstances, after they drift apart post their graduation. It shows the intricacy and bonding amongst these friends. It is a full-on entertainer having the right mix of love, emotions, friendship blended in drama and comedy, which will keep you glued to your seats.
Review: Laughter is the best therapy and this movie ensures that you laugh a lot! Tari Maate Once More is a fresh take on friendship— it’s not just about three or four guys from the campus as buddies, but it revolves around a group of guys and girls. And mind you, the creative team/writer has ensured to give equal weightage to the girls’ characters as well, which is refreshing to watch. Talking about direction, debutant Saurin Chaudhari has done a decent job in putting forward a fun story, which also has a love triangle as well as emotions laced to it. He has filmed the story in Gujarat as well as Goa. The music is decent and so is the background score. The dialogues are done pretty well and some amazing punchlines make you go ROFL! The makers have created a fun theatre-scene of Draupadi’s Swayamvar, which reminds you of Kundan Shah’s cult film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’s chaotic fun scene. However, this one has a different take and it is genuinely funny.
Casting wise, Bharat Chawda and Janki Bodiwala make for a glamourous screen-jodi but in terms of performance, they don’t really have anything new to offer. Jolly Rathod and Shraddha Dangar are apt in their roles. The real stars of the movie are Hemang Dave and Ojas Rawal with their power-packed performances. Hemang surprises us with the shudhh Gujarati dialogues and a natural performance. Ojas has not only cross-dressed, he has acquired just the right Sindhi accent and even had a scene where he was all covered with cow-dung- quite some dedication to put up an act right! We loved the performance of the actor who essayed the role of Jigar, an assistant to Maggie (Ojas), and another excellent performance comes from Ragi Jani as Don Bhai.
The editing of the film could have been much better though, which would have made it crisper. The film’s cinematography has its share of problems, and it doesn’t do justice to the visual aspects. But overall, the film’s makers and actors manage to lift the movie at just the right places. To sum it up, this one is a fun filled one-time watch.
