Princess Sofia of Sweden shows off her blossoming baby bump as she attends World Children's Day event

Princess Sofia of Sweden showed off her baby bump in a fashionable outfit today as she attended an event in honour of World Children's Day.

Prince Carl Philip's wife, 39, appeared chic but comfortable as she arrived in the Swedish city of Uppsala, on Tuesday to attend a round table discussion.

Looking effortlessly elegant, Sofia donned a black top that suitably showed off her baby bump, teamed with matching trousers and a stylish beige shawl draped around her shoulders.

She wore her thick brunette tresses down by her shoulders, with big blowout waves framing her radiant face.

Proving she is one of the most glamorous European royals, Sofia wore a full face of makeup with a strong base, blush smattered cheeks and a smoky eye. She finished the glam look with a rose pink lipstick.

The Swedish royal looked as sharp as her immaculately applied eyeliner with burgundy polished nails and well matched gold jewellery.

Dressed for pregnancy, Sofia slipped into a pair of ballet flats for the occasion, coordinating with the rest of the ensemble in beige and black.

Sofia appeared without her husband, Prince Carl Phillip, 45, for the occasion. The couple announced they were expecting their fourth child in September 2024.

The princess was also greeted by Erik Pellberg, chairman of the municipal board and Johanna Lindqvist, principal at Gränbyskolan.

After shaking hands, Sofia, who held her hands gently over her bump, posed next to officials to grab a picture from the day.

The royal also had the chance to chat with students and was pictured shaking hands and chatting to a group of young people at Gränby School.

World Children's Day is an annual event celebrated across the globe. It's purpose is to celebrate children's power to change the world and bring awareness to the issues that they face across the globe.

It is celebrated on 20 November to remember the day the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Right of the Child in 1959.

It is also the same date when the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention of the Right of the Child.

It comes after the Swedish royal was spotted alongside her husband for the State Opening of Parliament.

At the beginning of September, the royal arrived in Stockholm for the annual event, sporting a glamorous red velvet dress with a belted waistline and a pair of nude heels.

The 39-year-old accessorised her fashionable look with a ruby-red clutch bag and with a pair of statement gold earrings.

The mother looked glamorous in heavy makeup, consisting of a smoky eyeshadow with lipstick and also wore her brown tresses down in a bouncy curly blow-dry - having earlier in the day opted for a chic black dress.

Prince Carl Philip looked cheerful and content as he proudly stood with his wife and looked dapper in a navy suit.

The State Opening of Parliament is held every year in September, where the Monarch, King Carl XVI Gustaf, declares the new session open during the ceremony.

A concert was also be held in collaboration with the Royal Swedish Opera for members of the Riksdag and invited guests, including the Royal Family and members of Government.

The red frock was for her evening look, however, during the day, Sofia looked like a vintage beauty in a spotty belted dress.

The gown featured fur around the end of the long-sleeves and she paired the ensemble with black heels, a clutch bag and a fascinator.
