Will Levis breaks silence after Titans benched him following embarrassing game in front of his ex-girlfriend

After getting benched by the Tennessee Titans, Will Levis believes it is not the end of the world for him as a football player.

The quarterback had a nightmare on Sunday when he was benched mid-game in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with his ex-girlfriend Gia Duddy watching from the stands.

After 11 games and two wins, the Titans are keeping Levis on the bench and starting Mason Rudolph against the Colts this Sunday.

However, in announcing the decision, Titans coach Brian Callahan said he still believes in Levis' future in the NFL - a sentiment that was echoed by the 25-year-old.

'I still believe that I can be a franchise quarterback for this team,' Levis said Wednesday, via video from Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com. 'I have the utmost confidence in myself and my ability to lead any team in this league. I think this year was great development for me, and I think I truly did improve.

'I sure as heck don't want to go out like that. I know that there's a positive future for me, whether it's here or somewhere else, and I've just got to go and have the conversations I need to here, and hopefully, I can show and prove that I can still be the guy.'

After Levis was taken off the field on Sunday, Rudolph threw 26 passes and two touchdowns in relief, hence getting the starting nod against Indiana.

His benching also came with Duddy in the stand as a guest for Raising Cane's.

Levis and Duddy were an item for several months, with the latter turning the attention she got sitting beside the Titans quarterback during his NFL Draft night in 2023 into a career as a social media influencer.

Levis was mooted by many to be a first-round pick that night but endured the embarrassment of being left until the second round when the Titans eventually took him.

Duddy and Levis broke up before his NFL debut last year, with the duo not seen together in public or known to be in the same place since.

After Sunday's game, the Titans round out their regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans. Levis has completed 181 of 284 attempts for 1,916 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also starred in 12 interceptions and 40 sacks.

The Titans are 3-11, sitting third in the AFC South.
