President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Wednesday banning men from women's sports, DailyMail.com has learned.
The pledge was one of Trump's most popular rallying cries during the 2024 election campaign.
Republicans successfully used the issue to attract voters and Trump repeatedly attacked Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for vowing to support trans-rights.
Many college students and their parents expressed concern about opportunities that women were losing because of biological men competing in their sports.

And a report from the United Nations last year found that nearly 900 medals in women's sports have been won by biological males.
The report found that up to March 30th, 2024, 'over 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports.'
'The replacement of the female sports category with a mixed-sex category has resulted in an increasing number of female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males,' Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem wrote.
The Biden administration sought to expand protections for LGBTQ+ students, which included expanding Title IX, a 1972 law forbidding discrimination based on sex in education, to also prevent discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Republicans claimed the expansion was a ruse to allow transgender student-athletes to play on girls' athletic teams. The White House insisted the new Title IX rule did not apply to athletics.
But, several states challenged the Biden change in court, and, last month, a federal judge struck it down.
Biden had plans to make a separate rule specifically on transgender athletes but postponed that when Trump began to use the issue to hammer Harris, who ultimately lost the 2024 presidential election.
Since taking office, President Trump has signed a slew of executive orders tied to gender identity.
On his first day in office, he signed an executive order announcing the federal government would only recognize only two unchangeable sexes: female and male.
As part of that order, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suspended passport applications that use a gender-neutral marker such as 'X.'
Biden had changed the passport process in a way that allowed nonbinary, intersex or gender-nonconforming people to use an X designation rather than male or female.

Trump has also ended diversity, gender and equality initiatives in the federal government and ordered the termination of any programs that promote 'gender ideology.'
He also ordered federal employees to remove their pronouns from their email signatures.
The president also signed signed an executive order aimed at restricting gender care for people under the age of 19.
He announced federal support for such care would end and he called on the Health and Human Services secretary to 'take all appropriate actions to end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children'.
The order said it was referring to treatments including puberty blockers, hormones such as estrogen or testosterone, as well surgical procedures.
Many of Trump's orders are expected to be challenged in court.
There has been growing controversy and debate over the future of women's sports in recent years, notably since swimmer Lia Thomas became the first transgender athlete to win an NCAA Division 1 title in 2022.
