BBC Morning Live host Kym Marsh joked 'pass me a bucket!' in a brutal swipe at her co-star Gethin Jones during a phone-in on Thursday.

The actress and singer, 48, fronted the show alongside Gordon Smart and the duo hosted a segment where viewers could ask any question they like to a member of the BBC show's team.

Kym said: 'Paul asked us this question: "I'm spending Christmas with my daughter and want to start a new tradition with her. Do you have any ideas? Something that doesn't cost too much.'

She revealed that Gethin had recorded a video message with some sweet advice for the viewers, before cutting to a pre-recorded clip of the star dressed up in his panto gear.

Gethin is playing Prince Charming in a new pantomime in Cardiff, which he made clear by donning his costime for the clip.

He quipped: 'Hi Paul, Prince Charming here. So I started a little tradition with my nephews a few years ago where we just used to do little videos with each other. We're just chatting for three or four minutes about different things.

'They're really nice to keep and then over the years you look back at them and see how they've grown and how they've changed.'

However, when the cameras went back to the studio, the hosts were more focussed on the way Gethin referred to himself than his Christmas tradition suggestion.

Roaring with laughter, Kym swiped: 'Wow, did he just actually refer to himself as Prince Charming? Someone past me a bucket!'

Gordon quickly chimed in with 'Just a normal quiet day off!' as the guest panel also burst into giggles.

Kym added: 'I tell you what, he's back tomorrow, he's on the sofa tomorrow with Joanna Page. Please, please someone take the mickey out of him for that!'

In October, Gethin was forced to step in after a Strictly Come Dancing interview was derailed by a major technical blunder.

The TV personality and co-host Michelle Ackerley were interviewing Strictly's Jamie Borthwick, 30, and his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas .

But as they started the chat to discuss Saturday night's performance, the show was thrown into chaos by technical issues.

Roaring with laughter, Kym swiped: 'Wow, did he just actually refer to himself as Prince Charming? Someone past me a bucket!'

After introducing the couple on to the show, the video link appeared to have failed as the twinkle-toed stars battled WiFi issues.

Trying to secure the interview for eager BBC viewers, Gethin quizzed: 'Are you there?'

But the pair did not appear, which prompted Gethin to step in and explain: 'They've been running around rehearsal rooms all morning and now they are trying to find WiFi to speak to us.'

In his usual professional manner he managed to improvise with minimal disruption.

Fortunately soap star Jamie and his dancing partner resolved their WiFi issues and manged to connect to the studio.

Unfortunately they suffered yet another signal issue towards the end of the chat and their interview was cut short.

Michelle turned to the frozen screen and gasped: 'Oh no!' while Gethin chimed in: 'Oh. While we try to get them back, have a look at some behind the scenes clips.'
