Speaking to the BlueTick Show podcast before Ashley's announcement, she said: 'I am worried. I say I'm worried because where and how does that happen? You go through all of your scans to get told everything is OK.
'I'm worried because with Azaylia and going through my journey I knew what an incredible mum I was and am to her.
'I also know that with another child I would execute, probably catapault, so much love having another child. That is something I would just love to have.
'I have to be in the right position and situation - the same way I was with Ashley - to have a family. There's a tick list.'
She went on to reveal why she is finding it hard to find love again after her split from the footballer.
Safiyya continued: 'Even dating, people are on all of these apps. I used to just meet people. It is insane. So maybe I might just be on my own in the house.
'In my house, it's so empty. My house should be a home. I want to get to that point where I can create a home and not just have a house.'
'But it is scary after having a child and this is what happened.

Ashley has revealed he is preparing to become a dad again for the second time
'My thing now, I want that family, but I won't be prepared to sacrifice who I am and my morals as an individual to get that.
'My morals are my morals. If God is going to put me on that path to allow another child to come into my life, then I'm here for it.
'If Azaylia is my one and only daughter that I have until I'm united with her in heaven, then that's what it'll be.
'But I need my family. I need to be a mother with the father and have that home. That's just something I've longed for as a child.'
Ashley and Safiyya set up The Azaylia Foundation in their daughter's memory, which aims to fight the shortage of doctors and treatments surrounding childhood cancer.
Prior to her death, they had raised more than £1.5million to fund her specialist treatment in Singapore.
Azalyia was diagnosed with with acute myeloid leukemia at eight-weeks-old and had tumours on her lungs, stomach and kidneys.
She was given several rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant at Birmingham Children's Hospital but sadly died on April 24, 2021 when she was just eight-months-old, following a courageous battle.

'She was happy that she had a little brother and it is now just someone else for her to watch over and protect in this world.'
Ashley had been preparing for the Yukon 1000, the world's toughest survival endurance race from Canada, through the Arctic circle, to Alaska, when he received a call in July from a friend who he was dating at the time revealing she was pregnant.

Ashley said that Azalyia would have loved a a little brother and he is looking forward to becoming a father again.
But Ashley's strength was tested again when the couple discovered at the 20-week scan that their baby has a potential heart defect.
He explained that the doctors couldn't find the connection between one of the valves and the heart which naturally scared the star.
