Rachael Ray left 'embarrassed' after admitting to 'storming out' of recording studio

Rachael Ray has revealed that she once 'stormed out' of a recording session for her audiobook because she wasn't happy with how her words had been edited.

The 56-year-old, who recently sparked health concerns among fans, made the admission during the latest episode of her podcast I'll Sleep When I'm Dead as she enjoyed a conversation with New York Times Best Seller Harlan Coben.

Referring to her book, Rachael Ray 50: Memories and Meals from a Sweet and Savory Life, which was released in October 2019, she told Harlan about the time she was called in to record the audio version.

'The audio thing cracks me up because they asked me to do an audio of my book that I wrote when I was 50 that was kind of half memoir, half recipe book,' Ray began.

'And I couldn't get through it because they had edited it before I sat for the thing.

'I was so p***ed somebody messed with my words. I stormed out. It's so embarrassing to admit that, but I did,' the TV star admitted.

'And they were just trying to make the thing more popular, but I just find it so hard. I don't like people messing with my stuff.'

Ray's comments come just days after she admitted that she doesn't like to watch herself on TV and it makes her 'nervous.'

During a recent episode of her podcast she hosted Clueless actor Jeremy Sisto, as the two spoke about work, their personal lives and how to stand up for yourself in the business.

At one point, Ray and the actor spoke about their love of work and how they like to collaborate with others on set, to which the podcast host admitted that she has a hard time actually watching herself on screen.

'I don't like watching myself at all,' she divulged, before adding: 'It makes me very, very nervous and self-conscious and I can't handle it.'

It comes just weeks after rumors began to swirl about Ray's health after she posted a video which appeared to show her slurring her speech.

The video was a preview from her new show, Rachael Ray in Tuscany, and showed her cooking Ossobuco while paying tribute to the late Tony Bennett.

At the time, her rep told TMZ that she had 'no comment' about the matter.

After some viewers shared their concern, Ray admitted during the premiere of her podcast last week that she's suffered 'a couple of bad falls' recently.

The celebrity chef shared that she enjoys doing 'physical labor' around the house but has had to cut back on certain tasks lately because she took 'a couple of bad falls' while carrying wood.

Speaking clearly and cheerfully, Ray said: 'I'm a homemaker. I love chores. I love being in the kitchen.

'I always work with my brain everyday, I'm always writing something, but I really like chores.'

She continued: 'I like what people consider physical work. I like making dinner, planning dinners, making lists. I love physical labor, helping carry in the wood.'

Ray then noted, 'I've had a couple of bad falls in the last couple of weeks, so I haven't been doing that in awhile, but I love carrying wood.'
