Khalid is breaking his silence about disturbing claims allegedly made by his ex-boyfriend while outing him as gay.
The 26-year-old singer, who confirmed his sexuality publicly last week in the wake of the social media posts, took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to deny that he had ever been abusive in his previous relationship.
Instead, he accused his ex, the singer and rapper Hugo Almonte, of being the abusive one in their relationship.
Khalid (born Khalid Donnel Robinson) also said the two had been broken up for years, seemingly contradicting the earlier account which implied a recent split.
In a statement to Rolling Stone on November 23, Almonte claimed that singer tried to 'silence' him for ending their relationship, though he did not mention Khalid's name.
In Khalid's video, which showed him in closeup while he wore a simple red hoodie, he said, 'I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house, and the only people who even know about a breaking are my close circle.'

On social media, Khalid denied ever publicly blaming Almonte for breaking into his house, saying he wanted to keep the alleged break-in private
He added that he hadn't mentioned the alleged break-in to his fans 'because I don't want everybody in my business.'
Almonte had also accused Khalid of using cocaine, which he strenuously denied in the clip.
'I’m gonna speak about the pink cocaine thing. I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life,' he claimed. 'I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings.'
Although he admitted that he smokes marijuana and drinks 'a little bit,' he stated, 'I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life, for real.'
Khalid was similarly dismissive of claims that he had paid for the services of sex workers.
'Let’s talk about his escorting thing,' he continued. 'I’ve never paid for sex a day in my life, ever. I’ve never paid anybody to date me, I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me, ever.'
The Young Dumb & Broke singer also questioned why the allegations were made in the first place, as he claimed to have split from Almonte 'four years ago.'
'Where is this coming from? You tell me, 'cause I really don’t know,' he said.
He denied Almonte's claims that he used cocaine, and he also denied ever paying for sex
Khalid finally denied that he had been abusive during their relationship — which he claimed ended four years ago — and he instead accused Almonte (pictured on Instagram‚ of being the abusive partner
Khalid said his desire to set the record straight was because the comments on Amonte's original posts were 'triggering' to him.
'It’s not that it’s a running narrative or anything like that,' he said of the allegations, 'but it’s triggering seeing a few comments of people painting me as if I’m just some manipulative abuser. It’s just crazy to me.'
He also accused Almonte of being deceptive about who was the abusive partner when they were together.
Khalid said the abuse 'was the other way around, and that’s what hurts the most.'
'All of this is definitely frustrating. I want all of this to be over just like y’all. It’s literally one of the main reasons why I don’t involve myself in any drama, why I stay out of the way,' he said.
'I don’t like this. So I'm not gonna run around like I’m unbothered,' he continued, adding, 'I never said I was unbothered. This is very bothering for real.'
On Friday, Khalid came out by posting a short post to X which read: '[LGBTQIA+ pride flag]!!! there yall go. next topic please lol.'
'Wait hope Mr Khalid isn't GEHHH!' someone replied to which the singer reposted and wrote: 'I am! And that's okay.'
