Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's son James will share screen with dad for first time on CBS drama

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s son is stepping into the spotlight, following in his famous parents' footsteps with his acting debut.

James Wilkie Broderick, 22, will guest star in an upcoming episode of Elsbeth, the anthology crime series, where he’ll share the screen with none other than his Tony-winning father, CBS announced on Monday.

The episode, set to air in 2025, will be the first time the father-son duo acts together on screen, diving into a thrilling plot about the cutthroat world of college admissions.

Matthew, 62, will play Lawrence Grey, a wealthy and ruthless prep school consultant who uses his connections to get Manhattan's elite kids into Ivy League schools—no matter the cost, even murder.

James Wilkie will take on the role of Carl, a slick 'success trainer' at Grey’s consulting firm, Outmatch Educational Consulting, where he helps the children of the super-rich secure their spots at top schools.

Set in New York, Elsbeth is known for bringing in Broadway stars, including Matthew’s The Producers co-star Nathan Lane, who made a guest appearance in the Season 2 premiere.

A spinoff of The Good Wife, the show stars Carrie Preston as the title character, a former attorney turned de facto detective who uses her quirky, unconventional methods to assist the NYPD in solving crime.

Other A-List guest stars on Elsbeth include Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Vanessa Williams, Eric McCormack, Laurie Metcalf and more.

James Wilkie is currently a senior at Brown University, majoring in classics and acting.

Earlier this year, he had a brief role in the Apple TV series Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman.

Matthew and Sarah Jessica Parker, 59, are also the parents of 15-year-old twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.

The acting announcement comes after James Wilkie gave fans a glimpse into their family life with photos from the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He posted a number of sweet snaps from their French adventure on Thursday, including two with his sisters, twins Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta.

One photo features the whole family, including Matthew and Sarah as they pose in front of the Olympic stadium, with James in the middle.
