EXCLUSIVESacha Baron Cohen struts down the street in a purple suit to Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive as he takes on the role of a male chauvinist in a world run by women in new Netflix film In Ladies First

Sacha Baron Cohen was spotted on the set of In Ladies First for the first time as he filmed scenes for the upcoming Netflix film this week.

The actor, 53, was pictured shooting the scene in east London after it was revealed he was starring in the remake of the 2018 French romantic comedy, I Am Not An Easy Man.

Sacha was rocking a three-piece purple suit and shirt as he strutted down the street to Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees for one scene.

The Grimsby star takes on the role of a male chauvinist who finds himself in a parallel universe which is dominated by women.

Sacha stars opposite 'opinionated' Rosamund as the two tackle an unfamiliar landscape in the alternate reality.

According to reports on the film's script, womanizer Sacha gets a wake up call in the new world which only gets more complicated thanks to Rosamund's character.

The romantic comedy will also star Richard E Grant, Emily Mortimer, Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw, Tom Davis and Weruche Opia.

The film is being directed by Thea Sharrock [The Beautiful Game] with a screenplay by Katie Siberman [Booksmart], Cinco Paul [Despicable Me] and Natalie Krinsky [Blow].

There is currently no release date attached to the film.

Sacha's new movie marks a return to filming following the announcement of his split from his now estranged wife Isla Fisher.

Isla and Sacha announced in April that they had quietly separated last year.

The couple announced the news by sharing a picture of themselves together wearing tennis gear and using the sport as a metaphor for the marriage.

Their statement read: 'After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down.

'In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.

'We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy.'

The now estranged pair met at a party in Australia in 2002 before getting engaged in 2004.

Fisher, who compared meeting the actor to 'winning the lottery' converted to Judaism before they tied the knot in Paris, France, at a Jewish ceremony in March 2010.

Ten years later they moved to Sydney in December 2020 after splitting their time between the US and UK before later relocating to Western Australia.

Fisher, who was raised in Perth from the age of six, opened up about the move in 2021, telling Stellar magazine she feels safer in her native Australia.

'I just feel so safe, I suppose the word is cozy, when I'm in Australia. It's where I grew up,' she said.

'I'm the happiest when I'm home. I miss it when I'm not here. I don't feel any pressure when I'm in Australia. I don't have to say or do or be anything.

'I mean, I don't even have to wear shoes.'

There were also reports at the time that the political situation in the US was behind their relocation.

'They didn't want to raise their kids in Trump's America,' an insider told Sydney Morning Herald in January 2021.
