Stevie Nicks shares her 'anger' at being prevented from singing to Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie on her deathbed
Stevie Nicks has voiced her anger at being prevented from seeing her former bandmate on her deathbed.
The singer, 76, said that before Christine McVie died two years ago aged 79, she wanted to fly over from America on a private jet to see her in hospital in Britain.
'My plan was to sit on her bed and sing Touched By An Angel,' Stevie revealed recently.
However, Christine's family said this would convince her she was at death's door.
'I didn't get to do that, and I was angry,' the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman confessed.
Christine died of a stroke in November 2022, aged 79, with Stevie revealing that her bandmate's death put the final nail in the coffin of their band.

Fleetwood Mac were founded in London in 1967 and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful groups in history.
Their best-known songs include Dreams, Go Your Own Way and Everywhere.
Christine left the band in 1998 after almost three decades but re-joined in 2014 when a one-off appearance at the O2 reignited her love of performing.
Last year, Stevie said that Christine’s death meant there was no chance of reforming, telling Vulture: 'We had a really great time and it was a huge tour. That was there in the realm of possibility.
'But when Christine died, I felt like you can't replace her. You just can't. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend that I spent more time with than any of my other best friends outside of Fleetwood Mac.'
Earlier this month it was alleged that the band split up because Stevie slept with Christine's fiancé Dennis Wilson.
Songbird: An Intimate Biography of Christine McVie, was penned by friend Lesley-Ann Jones, and makes damning claims that the Edge of Seventeen songstress had relations with The Beach Boys co-founder Dennis while he was dating Christine.
Christine had dated Dennis for three years between 1979 and 1982.

One year after their relationship, he drowned at Marina Del Rey after drinking all day and diving to recover his ex-wife's belongings which had been thrown overboard at the marina.
'Dennis took the p**s, squandered her fortune and shagged around,' Lesley-Ann notes. 'She loved him. She couldn't help herself. She believed that they were pre-destined, but she had to sack him to save her sanity.
'She never stopped loving him, she said. 'His drowning affected her deeply.'
Lesley-Ann revealed that Christine eventually snapped out of her obsession for Dennis once she discovered his affair with her best friend.
'She returned to her senses only when it was brought to her attention that Dennis and Stevie had slept together.'
'Unable to resist the obvious temptation, Dennis made love to Stevie Nicks just when he was supposed to be settling down with Christine,' friend Jon Stebbins is quoted as saying.
'He also returned to [former wife] Karen [Lamm] on a fairly regular basis. He just couldn't seem to give her up.
'To make matters even more insane, he began cutting a passionate swathe through the entire Fleetwood Mac extended family, leaving no female untouched.'

Jon recalled how Dennis confided in him about sleeping with Stevie.
'After he slept with Stevie Nicks, he said to me, "You know I did something terrible. I went with her best friend." We discussed it. He did stuff like that.
'I couldn't fathom it. I couldn't have done it. But he did. With Chrissie, he abused the relationship, but he didn't really want to. His addictions got him in trouble. His body would let him own. The flesh was weak. Very weak.'
Following her split from Dennis, Christine went on to marry songwriter Eddy Quintela in 1986, but the pair divorced in 2003.
After Dennis's death, she had described him as 'the one' and admitted that she had hoped to fix him.
Stevie, meanwhile, was romantically linked to Fleetwood Mac's lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist Lindsey Buckingham from 1972 to 1976.
She was also linked to Fleetwood Mac's drummer Mick Fleetwood in 1978.
