Golf hero John Daly has sent Donald Trump a message of support ahead of his inauguration, days after being hospitalized and undergoing emergency surgery.
Daly, a proud and vocal Trump supporter, sparked huge concerns for his wellbeing earlier this week when he shared a picture from a hospital bed revealing he had emergency surgery for an issue with his hand.
The 58-year-old has not revealed precisely what the issue is, or even if he is still in hospital, but on the eve of Trump's return to power he made sure he sent the incoming President a message of support.
Sharing the recent cover of TIME magazine with Trump sweeping his desk clear in the Oval office, Daly wrote: 'LFGGGG it's time! God Bless America @RealDonaldTrump!'
Daly has often referred to Trump as 'Daddy' and was quick to praise his election victory last November.
The golfer appeared on Fox just hours after Trump's win was official and said: 'Our country needs Daddy Trump, and what he did…. [when] he became president, our 45th… What he did for four years was a miracle.
John Daly revealed this week that he needed emergency hand surgery and is in hospital
But over the weekend, Daly made sure he sent Donald Trump a message of support
'He got us out of a lot of a lot of things. All he wants to do is protect our country. It's like we want to protect our kids and our family.
'Daddy Trump wants to protect America, and he's going to do it again.'
Daly credited Trump's overwhelming success that day to his America-first policies, including his stance on immigration.
't goes back to protect our family,' Daly added. 'You've got to protect our borders.
'You've got to protect the American citizens. You've got to protect the family before you can protect anybody else, and that's what 'daddy' wants to do.
'Protect them first, and then we can worry about… a lot of other stuff outside of the United States.
'But Daddy Trump's all about America and his common sense to protect the ones that live in our country, and he's just an amazing human being. The whole family's amazing. All they want to do is protect us.'
Daly's timeline for a return to golf is unclear but upon announcing that he was in hospital, he insisted he would be back on the course soon.
