Parted ways: Stacey is now said to be a single girl after her split from fitness enthusiast Sam
The BBC star recently hinted her relationship with the fitness enthusiast was under strain as she labelled him ‘useless, annoying and messy around the house’ while reflecting on the ups and downs of their home-life in a candid interview.
Stacey, who won the dance competition series with Kevin Clifton, said on The Russell Howard Hour last month: 'My boyfriend never goes [travelling] with me, he would be useless.'
'I sort of get a bit annoyed when he’s not crying and sliding down the walls when I leave for these places. I’m like, "Are you not scared I’m never going to return? Are you not scared you’re going to lose the love of your life?"

'And he’s like, "You’ll be fine, you’ll be back in two weeks moaning about the state of the flat." And he’s right, that’s exactly what I do!'
She added: 'I say to myself before I put the key in the door, "Don’t kick off about the state of the flat because it doesn’t matter," I go in, the first thing I say is, "Have you been busy at work? Is that why the dishes are in the sink?" I’m all passive aggressive!
'He will be like, "don’t start" and that’s fair, I think, "I can’t be ar**d, I’m too jet lagged, we’ll resume this tomorrow!" He contributes in other ways...not like that!'
She echoed her comments in an interview with You Magazine, admitting she does most of the housework as Sam is 'not very whizzy'.

Despite her remarks, Stacey praised his 'chilled and supportive' nature: 'He understands when you’re on top of a hill in the Democratic Republic of the Congo you can’t panic because someone’s waiting for you to call home.'
Stacey denied rumours that she was growing close to former dance partner Kevin back in February and said Sam wasn't in the least bit jealous.
She told The Times: 'The truth is Kevin and I are brilliant friends and he’ll be my pal for life, and Sam was probably the most supportive he has ever been.
'When I first got the gig he was just so made up. He was dancing round our living room. And every week he’d say, "Listen to Kevin. Kevin knows best". He was a dream.'
She also said: 'Of course it’s weird. King Kev was my knight in shining armour, he sort of dragged me through the whole experience, it was such a dream.'
Her words came just weeks after a source told The Sun that Sam was starting to feel paranoid about Stacey dancing with Kevin.
Although there is nothing to suggest anything untoward happened.
They said: 'Sam has also been quite vocal about her dancing with a single man and was really paranoid that they were going to split because of the show.
'She says he has become insanely jealous even though she insisted there was nothing for him to worry about.'
And while Sam supported Stacey by being present at the studio, things weren't apparently all plain sailing.
The source continued: 'He caused some scenes at the studio. He was not suitably dressed to go in the audience, one week he turned up in an expensive tracksuit, and it was only because Stacey put her foot down that he was allowed into the studio audience where they usually have to be suited and booted.'
The auburn-haired beauty recently revealed she'd love to welcome children with Sam in the future.
She told The Times: 'In the future [having children] is something I would like, but work is so brilliant at the minute, it would be too soon.'

Hard times: Competing on Strictly requires hard work and often draws competitors away from their families, creating rifts between loved ones
Competing on Strictly requires hard work and often draws competitors away from their families, creating rifts between loved ones. This phenomenon is known as the Strictly curse and has led to several divorces and breakups.
A series of couples have fallen victim to the curse since the show's inception in 2004, including Natasha Kaplinsky, Ben Cohen, Louise and Jamie Redknapp, and more recently Neil and Katya Jones.
The show is also responsible for forming new romances, with lovebirds Giovanni Pernice and Ashley Roberts and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell embarking on romances following the 2018 series.
Strictly curse: Louise Redknapp appeared on the series in 2016, after which she and then-husband Jamie were said to be facing marital issues. By the end of 2017, they were divorced (pictured together in March 2016)
It's clear that part of the reason Stacey wanted to appear on the show was for a bit of escapism.
She previously told Grazia: ‘This year has been particularly heart-breaking. We’ve done a lot in Iraq, the Middle East, Latin America. And it was just painfully sad.
'We’d be walking over dead bodies to get where we needed to be. Sometimes, it’s healthy to take a step back.’
The publication asked her if she was ever concerned that dancing the paso doble on a Saturday night might impede her chances of being taken seriously as a documentary maker?
She replied: ‘Lots of people said that, actually. But I think with Strictly, it is such a credible, classy show. Kate Silverton is a perfect example of that. She’s been reporting in Afghanistan and does the 10 o’clock news. So no, I wasn’t too worried.'
Stacey has had her own fair share of heartbreak to deal with.
She wrote in her book, On the Front Line with the Women Who Fight Back, that her father left her family home when she was just two years old.
He sadly passed away before they had the chance to work things out.
She penned: 'My mum went above and beyond to make up for the fact I didn't have two parents. I was very lucky.
'My father had his demons; our relationship was difficult and fractured. But I don't ever think !poor me", I just feel blessed that I had my mother. She was such a great mum.
Her mother told The Mirror that 'there was never a bond' between Stacey and her father.
She said that when he tried to come back into her life in a 'more meaningful way when she was 13, it was too late for them to reconcile.'
