Mystery redhead steals attention away from 'mean girl' Apple Martin, 20, at 'nepo baby' ball

  • Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple, 20, attended the Le Bal des Débutantes
  • Social media users seem more focused on another women who attended the event
  • People have been gushing over a mystery redhead who stood next to Apple

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's stunning model daughter Apple Martin made her debut into society at a grand debutante ball in Paris over the weekend - but a mystery redhead is now stealing her thunder.

Apple, 20, stunned at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes on Saturday, but social media users seemed more focused on one of the other women who attended the elite event.

Hello! Magazine shared a snap of all the ladies dressed in their glamorous ball gowns to Instagram, and many people took to the comment section to gush over how beautiful they looked.

And while some users praised Apple, who donned a strapless blue Valentino Haute Couture gown, many of the complimentary comments were for the mysterious redhead who stood next to her.

'The beautiful red head's dress is stunning,' one person wrote.

Another pointed out that in the Hello! Magazine's article about the event, the redhead was the only woman not featured.

'Why, when you go to the link are only 18 of the 19 young women featured?' they asked.

'I think the red head's dress is the most stunning, but she's missing from the article. If it were me, I'd find that mortifying to be left out.'

It turns out, the mystery debutante is a teen named Peyton Spaht.

Peyton is currently a student at Convent & Stuart Hall in San Francisco, California, where yearly tuition is $57,900 for high school, and is set to graduate next year.

She donned a Dolce & Gabbana velvet, strapless gown for the party, which came complete with a long, flowing skirt that contained a pattern that featured a painting.

A previous article by Hello! said that she 'hails from one of the richest families in San Francisco.'

Her family reportedly founded EWG:HS, a 'national club focused on influencing global brands to ban harmful chemicals in products that are still approved by the FDA.'

According to Forbes, her 50-year-old father, Holden, is worth a whopping $3.7 billion and is the managing partner of private equity firm, Thoma Bravo.

He's also board chair of Peyton's school and is married to Claire, who is an artist, philanthropist, and art collector.

Peyton was accompanied by Constantin d’Orléans, the son of Duke Charles-Louis d’Orléans, at the ball.

A slew of A-listers joined Peyton and Apple at the event, which was held in the $1,000-a-night Hotel Shangri-La, including Bohemian Rhapsody actress Lucy Boynton, Roger Federer, Sadie Sink, and Vanessa Paradis.

Apple has since been accused of having a 'Mean Girls moment' at the party, after a clip emerged that showed her stealing the spotlight from another girl who was having her picture taken.

Posing with her hands on her hips, Apple was seen edging her way into the frame - forcing the other girl out.

The debutante could do nothing but look on with an awkward laugh, as Apple proceeded to pout and pose for several photos.

Eventually, she finished and stepped out of the way - almost cutting off another debutante who was waiting for her turn for a picture in the process.

The move did not go down well on social media after the footage, taken by French outlet Paris Match, was shared on TikTok.

'How Obnoxious and entitled she is,' one viewer wrote.

'Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment,' another added.

'Not a good behavior for such an event,' a third person agreed, while another described it as 'giving Regina George' in reference to the notorious queen bee in the movie Mean Girls.

The annual event, which was first held at the Palace of Versailles in 1958, sees 20 young ladies from some of the most important families in the world being introduced into society.
