Aaron Taylor-Johnson has revealed he advised wife Sam against watching his new film Nosferatu due to her phobia of rats.
Aaron, 34, who has been married to director Sam, 57, since 2012, stars alongside Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård in the upcoming vampire horror film which is a reboot of the classic 1922 movie.
Revealing there were '5000 trained rats' on the set for a memorable scene with Bill in his casket, Aaron, who plays Friedrich Harding, told Deadline: 'I said to Sam, "I’m sorry, but you can’t see this movie."
'She’s like, "Well, I really desperately want to see it, but is it really that terrifying?" I was like, "Well, listen, you’ve got a phobia of rats.
'That’s one thing. And then secondly, it’s terrifying." And I know it’s definitely going to cause some sleepless nights for most people. But people like that.”
A synopsis for Nosferatu reveals it is a 'Gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.'

Nosferatu will be released on December 25, 2024.
Following Daniel Craig's final outing in 2021's No Time To Die, Aaron has emerged as the frontrunner to get his own licence to kill in the next James Bond film.
The Bullet Train star has reportedly been formally offered the chance to play the British spy, with sources claiming bosses have already taken extraordinary lengths to secure him for four movies.
Producer Barbara Broccoli is not considering anyone else, according to insiders, who have claimed costume fittings for Aaron are already underway, with execs hoping he will lead the franchise into a new age with a 'fantasy' twist.
'It is all in the details and agents and lawyers are going through all the red tape and how many movies Aaron will sign up for. It is currently looking to be a three-picture deal with the option of a fourth.
'They have done all the fittings, they have the haircut they have in mind for him, and he's already in tremendous shape.
'Barbara Broccoli and the rest of the producers are going to make a huge deal out of the announcement.'
Aaron was coy when questioned previously about the rumours, previously telling Numero magazine in March: 'I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.'
