Scarlett Johansson has expressed her shock over husband Colin Jost's SNL joke about her private parts, telling Today show viewers that it was 'just wrong.'

The Hollywood actress, who is set to return to Today with Jenna & Friends after delighting fans and impressing network execs, broke her silence on the controversial gag – which aired last month – on Friday.

Speaking to co-host Jenna Bush Hager, Scarlett, 40, said of Colin's joke: 'It got so vulgar.'

She revealed that although she had been prepped on the segment and had told producers that she didn't want the joke to get her 'cancelled or divorced,' she was still astonished.

'Honestly, Jenna, I felt like it was like To Catch a Predator,' she continued. 'The jokes were so vulgar.'

Scarlett added: 'Emma Stone turned to me and went, "That was not okay."

'My heart was racing, my eyes were watering, my hands were [shaking]. It was very surreal.'

Last month, Colin, 42, who has hosted SNL's Weekend Update since 2014 alongside Michael Che, stunned audiences with a nasty gag written by his co-star about Costco removing their roast beef sandwich from their menu.

One of their traditions is a Joke Swap, where they will read jokes they have never seen before that the other wrote, to get each other to crack up laughing.

While Scarlett stood by the wings and watched, Colin said: 'I've been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kids.'

The camera then cut to a stunned Scarlett backstage who exclaimed, 'Oh my God.'

Acknowledging that Michael was behind the joke, Scarlett told Today show viewers that she he has a 'vendetta.'

She said with a laugh: 'I honestly feel like Michael is trying to get us permanently removed. He has a vendetta against us. What did we do to you, Michael?'

Scarlett wed Colin in October 2020 at their New York home after three years of dating.

The couple share a son, Cosmo, three, and Scarlett also shares 10-year-old daughter Rose with ex-husband Roman Dauriac.

Earlier this week, Colin appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where the host asked if he was 'in trouble' with his wife.

'I'm in trouble I think with a lot of people,' he said as the audience laughed, before he added, 'Scarlett was genuinely so shocked.'

He added he was 'obviously surprised' since he didn't see the joke beforehand but revealed show staffers gave Scarlett a bit of a heads up.

'But they gave her a heads up. They were like, "Hey, would you be okay if Michael made a a little, like, kind of vagina joke at some point?"' Colin revealed.

'She was like, "Sure, you know, whatever, I'm open to it,"' Colin said, adding he 'didn't know where it was going, and then the graphic came up for Arby's.'

'And so, Scarlett is backstage like, "Oh, my God! That's what it is?"' he said, as Jimmy said it was a, 'legitimate live moment.'

The host added: 'You weren't acting at all.'

Colin replied: 'I was not. I can't act that well.'
