Playboy alum Kendra Wilkinson, 39, refuses to call her weight gain a 'failure'

Former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson is opening up about her body positive journey on social media. 

On January 21, the Playboy superstar shared a dramatic black-and-white selfie on Instagram and shared her thoughts about her recent post discussing her weight gain. 

Kendra, 39, began the post by writing, 'Embracing life a little differently nowadays.' 

'I've had my fair share of hardships and setbacks these last years but I've learned how to rise above and let life flow. Let go and only invite positive thinking in,' the reality star continued.' 

'A little weight gain and aging isn't something I call a failure and I do enough every day to keep myself standing upright, healthy, mentally healthy and smiling,' Kendra continued.

The Kendra Sells Hollywood Star wrote that she's 'staying focused and motivated' while juggling 'real estate, motherhood, and Hollywood.' 

'Mama's out here grinding,' the proud mom revealed. 

Kendra shares son Hank Randall Baskett IV, 15, and daughter Alijah Mary Baskett, 10, with her ex-husband Hank Baskett, 42.

Kendra's fans adored the thoughtful post, praising her relatable message and the 'artful' photo. 

'You're so beautiful inside and out,' one commenter wrote. 

'Aging is a privilege,' another agreed. 

'You are speaking what so many of us are going through,' one woman said. 

Before sharing her thankful message, she took to Instagram to share a candid message with her followers about aging and gaining weight.  

The San Diego native posted a full-length bathroom mirror wearing a white tank top and black leggings.

Kendra, who was one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends in the early 2000s, told fans she feels good and is 'mentally healthy.'

The reality star, who turns 40 on June 12, then shot down haters by saying, 'For those of you hating on my new weight, 40-year-old face please know that I'm happy, healthy and at peace in life finally.'

Kendra added, 'Almost 40 is feeling amazing and yes, to the people criticizing my alcohol intake… I hear you and that will be monitored better.'
