Comedian Heather McDonald has thrown her hat in the ring for a job on The View as ABC reportedly plans to overhaul the show's hosts following Donald Trump's election victory.
McDonald, who previously starred on E!'s Chelsea Lately, expressed her interest in the gig during the most recent episode of her Juicy Scoop podcast.
'I've never been on The View and I just wanna say that if someone is listening to this and they're thinking, "Maybe Heather would be fun", I would try it out,' she said.
'And if it's a disaster, who cares?' she added, before saying that she will 'never' stop doing her Juicy Scoop podcast.
'Or I could really love it. It could be like a whole other chapter,' she added.
It comes following reports that ABC News executives are actively searching for a conservative, pro-Trump voice to join the panel on The View after its liberal stars all backed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

ABC News executives are reportedly searching for a conservative voice to join the panel on The View after its liberal stars all backed Vice President Kamala Harris for president
The talk show is currently co-hosted by the ultra-woke Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines, as well as Republican never-Trumpers Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Just one day after Trump's victory, the panelists dressed in all black as if they were attending a funeral.
Now ABC News Group President Debra OConnell and ABC News boss Almin Karamehmedovic are holding meetings with executive producers and other senior editorial leaders to address its coverage, the New York Post reported last week.
It is primarily focusing on The View, unidentified sources said.
'The View is facing pressure from higher-ups,' the source said. 'Viewers can expect some major changes, including brining in new panelists that can bring in a pro-Trump perspective.'
The source went on to note that all six of the current panelists endorsed Harris in the presidential election.
'They lost. They are out of touch with America,' the insider said, noting: 'For a show about different perspectives, The View doesn't seem to have any when it comes to Trump' and ABC News executives 'don't want to alienate the pro-Trump demographic' as they try to maintain the show's ratings and advertising revenue.
'At the end of the day, these changes aren't about politics. They are about economics,' the source explained. 'Trump got more than half of the vote.
Former Chelsea Lately star McDonald is not open about her political views and keeps her Juicy Scoop podcast focused on pop culture instead of politics
Ana Navarro (pictured) and Alyssa Farah Griffin are both anti-Trump Republicans
'TV networks need to find pro-Trump voices and diversify viewpoints to reflect the various perspectives of Americans.'
Another unidentified source also noted that the change comes after ABC News execs were caught by surprise by Trump's victory.
'We are trying to sort out how we cover the next four years, when everyone inside ABC News is on one side,' the source said.
But an ABC News spokesperson has denied the claims, telling DailyMail.com the show is doing just fine as it is.
'This report is not true,' the spokesperson said.
'The View is an opinion-based show featuring a diverse panel of women with different points of view – the current panel is clearly resonating with audiences given that the series just had its highest rated episode in more than a decade and hit a four-year high in total viewers.'
It remains unclear whether the show would kick off one of its woke panelists or just add a seventh.
But including a conservative onto the notoriously woke show may cause some issues with its top talent, the first source said.
'The question is what will happen to the Whoopis and the Joys if they bring on a Trumpster,' the insider said.
Despite being openly Catholic, former Chelsea Lately star McDonald is not open about her political views and keeps her Juicy Scoop podcast focused on pop culture instead of politics.
'As a comedian, I know that you guys want a show that's juicy, pop culture, fun,' she said in a 2022 TikTok video.
