Selena Gomez enjoyed a brief reprieve from her hectic Emilia Perez press run on Wednesday as she stepped out in LA for a dinner date with Benny Blanco.

For their night out, Gomez looked effortlessly chic in a black velvet blazer that she wore over a skintight black top.

Blanco recently dished on their 'crazy' first date while appearing on Kai Cenat's Twitch stream on Tuesday.
He revealed that it was Gomez who made the first move.
'She asked me out. It was crazy, it was crazy. She literally asked me... like we were just talking, and then she said, "You wanna get dinner?" And I went to the dinner, and I had no idea,' he explained.
Blanco said he wasn't 'nervous' for the date because he already knew Gomez on a personal and professional level.
'No [I wasn't nervous], 'cause I've been friends with her for years. We've been friends for like 10 years plus, maybe 15,' he told Cenat.
'I met her when she was like a friend. I met her when she was so much younger. We're close in age, but like we were just talking, and then she was like, "Oh, let's go get dinner tomorrow."
'And I was like, "I'm going to this thing with my friends, why don't you come hang out with me first, then we'll go link for dinner."'
Blanco said he and Gomez got drinks but that he didn't immediately realize that he was on a date by the Rare Beauty founder.

'And when you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down,' Gomez noted.
Despite being an A-list star, Gomez said that she still manages to have 'a private life' and prefers to hang out with 'people who aren't really in the business that much.'
She also quipped that she has become skilled at laying low, or attempting to go incognito, on date nights by obscuring her face behind a scarf to avoid being photographed.
However, Gomez has been working the spotlight lately as she promotes her buzzy new film Emilia Perez.
The Spanish-language musical comedy follows a cartel leader (Karla Sofia Gascon) who pretends to die in order to undergo a gender transition into a woman.
It premiered at theCannes Film Festival to a burst of acclaim, including a joint best actress prize for Gomez, Gascon, Zoe Saldana and their castmate Adriana Paz.
After a limited theater release in the US and Canada in November 1, the movie bowed on Netflix this Wednesday to a warm response from the critics.

She also said that she'd enjoyed the Emilia Perez press tour as reporters have avoided pestering her about her personal life.
'Every interview I've done for this movie, there's not been one personal question asked, and I've wanted to kiss every single reporter in the mouth and just say, "Thank you, because it's been so refreshing," and I think that that's a space that is safer for me,' Gomez said.
