Michael C. Hall was back from the dead as he filmed hotly anticipated Dexter reboot Resurrection in New York City on Monday - despite being killed off in the last series.
The 53-year-old actor, who stars as the titular character, reunited with returning star James Remar (Harry Morgan) and Jack Alcott, who plays Dexter's son Harrison, who shot him in 2021 reboot Dexter: New Blood.
Hall - who has played the serial killing blood spatter analyst since 2006 - was clad in a quilted olive green jacket, which he wore over a crew neck dark gray sweater.
He added a pair of dark pants with cargo pockets, black lace-up work boots, and Dexter's signature black leather gloves.
The star sported a shadow of a white-gray beard as he shot mysterious scenes inside a camouflage-painted truck alongside James, 71, who played the ghost guide of Dexter in the show's eight seasons from 2006-2013.
The scene appeared to show the pair stalking a new target.
Remar's return was announced last month after he did not appear in New Blood.

Dexter: Resurrection will air in 2025
In turn Jennifer Carpenter returned as the ghost of Debra Morgan, although it is not known if she will return for Resurrection.
It was announced last year at San Diego Comic Con that Hall would reprise the role, which shocked and delighted fans.
Hall also returned as the inner voice of Dexter on Original Sin, currently airing with Patrick Gibson playing the killer as he begins his career at Miami Metro while becoming a killer.
'We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime's most successful series ever,' Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President, previously said in a press release.
He continued, 'While Dexter: Resurrection will appeal to the tens of millions of longtime fans, Dexter: Original Sin will introduce a whole new generation of viewers into this iconic series by starting from the beginning, which is sure to satisfy existing audiences as well.'
Uma Thurman is the latest A-list star to be added to the cast.
Kill Bill star Thurman, 54, will play 'Charley, the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater.
'A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater' per Deadline.

Earlier this month Michael made an appearance on Showtime's Instagram account.
'Hey, what’s up? It’s Michael C. Hall. I am on the set for the first official day of production for Dexter: Resurrection,' he told the platform's nearly 600,000 followers.
'I’m looking forward to another thrill ride, and when all is said and done, to you taking the ride with us. Stay tuned,' the actor teased in a video.
Viewers will have to wait to see what's in store on Resurrection, as an official synopsis has not yet been shared.
There is no word yet on whether Jennifer Carpenter will return as Dexter's adopted sister Deb Morgan, who died in the season eight finale, and returned as a ghost guide in New Blood
However, the premiere episode of prequel series Dexter: Original Sin featured a peek at Dexter being taken to a hospital after he was shot and revived.
New episodes of Original Sin come out on Fridays and stars Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Michael serves as executive producer on Dexter: Resurrection, along with showrunner Clyde Phillips.
It's produced by Showtime and Counterpart Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
