Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's daughter, Apple Martin, had a less-than-enthusiastic conversation with her date at a debutante ball in Paris over the weekend.

Apple, 20, was pictured seemingly rolling her eyes at the dapper Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck, who accompanied her to the glitzy event.

Before they made their grand entrance at the ball, the young duo were seen chatting together in a video shared to TikTok.

Leo, who hails from the Austro-Hungarian noble family House of Henckel von Donnersmarck, made a playful dance gesture as he spoke with Apple, who seemed less amused.

Shortly after Apple visibly rolled her eyes, seemingly in response to a comment her date made.

It wasn't the only time she raised eyebrows at the ball. She was also accused of having a 'mean girl' moment, after a clip emerged of her stealing the spotlight from another girl who was having her picture taken.

DailyMail.com has contacted a representative for Apple for comment.

After their chat, Apple and Leo were pictured making their way to the ballroom.

Apple stunned in a strapless sky blue gown from Valentino's Spring 2025 collection as she gracefully danced with her eligible date.

She was among around 20 young women who were presented at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes held in the $1,000-a-night Hotel Shangri-La.

And while the débutantes take centre stage, each is paired with a 'cavalier' who are often young men from similarly distinguished backgrounds, to make their grand entrance at the ball.

Leo is the son of film director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Christiane Asschenfeldt, the first International Executive Director of Creative Commons.

He is the descendant of a large and noble Austro-German family who were central figures of the 2nd Industrial Revolution, spearheading technological innovations like mild steel puddling metal factories, three-high rolling mills and soda-pulping in Germany.

Aside from his family connections, little is known Apple's date, who has just two Instagram posts.

His most recent one includes snaps of him and Apple at the ball.

It is believed he attends Columbia University in New York City and is part of the university rowing club as he has tagged both in his bio.

Last year, Leo's sister Countess Lara Cosima made her debut at the prestigious event.

During the evening, Leo cut a very dapper figure in a black morning suit coat pair with a white shirt and bow tie and black trousers.

Leo and Apple linked arms as they entered the luxury ballroom before she blew a kiss to her proud father Chris.

The Coldplay star playfully tapped her date on the arm as they made their way pass their dinner table.

The pair later took their positions on the dancefloor and gracefully waltz around the room with Leo carefully dipping Apple.

Her famous parents Chris and Gwyneth couldn't take their eyes of their daughter.

Apple's mom Gwyneth attended with ex-husband Chris and their son Moses, 18, as well as her mother Blythe Danner, to celebrate her.

Many people were left shocked by Apple's behavior after a clip emerged of her stealing the spotlight from another girl who was having her picture taken.

The other debutante was seen taking her turn posing for the camera when Martin appeared from behind and sashayed into the shot.

Posing with her hands on her hips, Martin edged her way into the frame - forcing the other girl out.

The debutante could do nothing but look on with an awkward laugh, as Martin proceeds to pout and pose for several photos.

Eventually, she finishes and steps out of the way - almost cutting off another debutante who is waiting for her turn for a picture in the process.

The move did not go down well on social media after the footage, taken by French outlet Paris Match, was shared on TikTok.

'How Obnoxious and entitled she is,' one viewer wrote.

'Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment,' another added.

'Not a good behavior for such an event,' a third person agreed, while another described it as 'giving Regina George' in reference to the notorious queen bee in the movie Mean Girls.

The Vanderbilt University student has mostly kept out of the public eye, but has decided to begin a new chapter in her life.

The family joined an exclusive list of attendees who are all personally invited by the ball's host, Ophélie Renouard.
