Oprah is the 'worst' person to buy Christmas presents for says her close celebrity pal

With the Christmas holiday just eight days away, Oprah was branded the 'worst' person to buy a Christmas present for by one of her celebrity pals.

The celebrity in question happens to be her latest co-star in the new Netflix film The Six Triple Eight, which is currently in theaters and debuts on Netflix December 20.

The celeb in question stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday to discuss the new film, where they made the admission about Oprah.

'Do you want a new favorite thing?' the celebrity said on the talk about about trying to buy a gift for Oprah.

The Six Triple Eight director Tyler Perry is another one of the 'worst' to buy presents for, adding, 'He has everything.'

So who is this celebrity connected to Oprah and Tyler Perry? It's none other than Kerry Washington, who plays Major Charity Adams in The Six Triple Eight.

Since Oprah has a reported net worth of $3 billion and Tyler Perry is at $1.4 billion, one could realize how difficult they'd be to buy gifts for.

She added that, 'This movie, which we'll talk about is all about letters. And he (Perry) says the thing that means the most to him is a letter,' though she joked, 'Maybe a post-it.'

Perry directs both Winfrey and Washington in the drama The Six Triple Eight, which tells the true story of an all-Black-female regiment known as 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

The unit was the only predominantly Black unit to be sent overseas during World War II, tasked with delivering a massive backlog of mail to and from U.S. soldiers, roughly 17 million pieces of mail.

Washington explained, 'They decided in World War II that they needed resources at the front lines. And so, rather than delivering mail, they used all the vehicles to help soldiers at the front line. But that meant there were stockpiled 17 million pieces of mail that were undelivered to soldiers.'

'So, there was this crisis of morale because, you know, this is before whatsapp and texting and facetime. So, your mail was how you felt connected to the people you love most and the people who loved you,' she added.

'So, these soldiers weren't hearing from their wives, their parents. Parents weren't hearing from their sons. And there was a sense of loss of purpose and connection, community, morale,' Washington continued.

'These women were brought in. Tons of people had tried to fix the situation. Nobody could do it. So, almost as a joke, the government was like, "Oh, there are these new black lady soldiers." Like, "Put them on the job." Set Clip Points

When asked about her plans for the holidays, Washington revealed she hosts a gathering at her place, but with some rules attached.

'I'm an only child, but my mom is one of seven. So, I have a lot of cousins. And I host, but I don't do all the cooking,' she said with a laugh.

'No, I do like a pot luck. I cook a lot and then I'm like, "Come on you guys. You've got to bring something,"' she said.
