Kim Kardashian shocks fans as she debuts heel-shaped cast on broken foot

Kim Kardashian isn't letting her broken left foot cramp her style.

The reality TV star, 44, shocked fans on Tuesday when she unveiled a white heel-shaped cast on social media.

She snapped a close-up photo of herself wearing it and eagerly shared the snap with her millions of followers on both X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

The cast, made of gauze and thick plaster, was formed to look like an open-toed shoe with a tall wedge heel.

No skin was visible on Kim's foot or ankle but her toes were left fully exposed to show off her shiny red pedicure.

The mother-of-four announced that she'd broken her foot earlier this month but has yet to reveal how the injury occurred.

Fans had a mixed reaction to Kim's unusual cast.

Many called the SKIMS founder 'innovative' and even predicted that the heel cast would become a 'trend.'

'always ahead of your time in the fashion world. This goes harddddd,' penned one X user, with another adding: 'This will be the new trend'

Some hilariously speculated that the cast was a new design from Kim's favorite luxury brand Balenciaga or even a potential hint at Kim's next SKIMS collection.

Meanwhile, others encouraged Kim to focus on the healing process rather than fashion.

'Chill already.. it’s the holiday’s. Sit down and heal,' one concerned fan tweeted out.

Another followed-up with: 'Yikes...a broken foot shouldn't be set in a heel-shaped cast.'

Kim first shared the news of her broken foot on December 6 when she uploaded an image of her foot in a boot cast with Fergie's song Clumsy playing in the background and the bottom of crutches visible.

'FML,' Kim wrote alongside the photo with a swearing emoji. 'Broken foot for the holidays.'

Less than a week later, Kim hopped on a plane from Los Angeles to New York City to attend the grand opening of her SKIMS store on Fifth Avenue.

She was pictured leaving the opening of her new flagship on Thursday, December 12, while getting around on a black knee scooter.

Despite having a broken foot that was possibly painful and swollen, Kim shockingly opted to wear the same high-heel for her broken foot as for her ambulatory one.

Fans praised her for powering through her injury and got a huge kick out of her deciding to wear high heels.

This isn't the first time Kim has gotten injured this year.

This summer she broke her index and middle finger so badly that the bone was poking out of her skin, as she revealed on an episode of her family's Hulu reality show.

'My big sliding door in my bathroom that opens up,' she explained during an episode of The Kardashians in July.

'I was shutting it and there's no latch. You have to pull the inside of the mechanics out.'

She explained that Saint, nine, had run into the bathroom with chips and as she told him to put them away, the door slammed on her fingers.

'I literally looked at my hand and I fell to the ground,' she recalled. 'I just grabbed the table and got on my knees because I just saw all this blood.'

Kim tried to describe the intense pain she felt when the injury happened.

'You can't describe the pain but your whole body goes in shock,' she explained. 'It was more painful than childbirth.'
