Lily Allen and her husband David Harbour have been plagued by rumours their marriage is in crisis after she revealed she is 'not in a great place mentally'.

The singer, 39, has been going to therapy to work through things after relocating to New York with her children Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 11, and David.

Last year questions arose over their relationship when Lily unfollowed the Stranger Things actor, 49, on social media.

Now she has started dropping hints there is trouble in her home life and even said she is 'bored of men'.

She admitted recently on the Miss Me? podcast she hosts with her best friend, the presenter Miquita Oliver: 'I'm having a bit of a rough time of it at the moment, but I'm trying to soldier on.'

In a previous episode, she told how her two daughters had found themselves in the firing line.

'I exploded and screamed at the kids. I was like, "I can't handle this at the moment; I'm going through so much, I need you two to behave yourselves."'

She then explained to them: 'We're all going through some difficult stuff at the moment, so I apologise, and I'm sorry.'

In another segment she described Aaron Batterham, the boyfriend of her mother Alison, as a 'pillar of support' and 'the main male person in my life that is great and supportive to me' - with no mention of David.

For some, a potential clue to the cause of her turmoil came when Lily announced: 'I'm so bored of men.'

Lily has also been pictured recently without her wedding ring. Video clips of her podcast show Lily's left hand minus the large diamond David gave her four years ago.

She was also without it when she attended an addiction awareness event in London earlier this month.

It comes after Lily revealed that she is 'not in a great place mentally' and has stopped eating.

Speaking on her podcast Miss Me?, Lily made a candid confession about her mental health.

The Smile hitmaker spoke of how it has impacted her eating, with the star admitting she has not been eating and never feels hungry.

'I've been going through a tough time over the last few months and my eating has become an issue,' Lily said.

'My therapist and I talk about it and she says "How long has this been going on?" And I said, "Well, about three years really." And she's like, "OK, why haven't you mentioned it before?"

'And it's not because I'm lying about it. It's just because it's not seemed at the top of the list of important things that I need to talk about, but obviously it is.'

Lily added: 'I'm not really good at talking about the bigger picture. That's something about my ADHD as well, that I don't link things.

'And also, my body and my brain are two very separate things to me. I know a lot of people feel those two things are very connected to each other, but for me it's very different. I spend a lot of time in my head, and not a lot of time thinking about my body.

'I'm really not in a great place mentally at the moment, and I'm not eating. I'm not hungry. I obviously am hungry, but my body and brain are so disconnected from each other that my body... the messages of hunger are not going through my body to my brain.

'I'm not avoiding food, I'm just not thinking about it because I'm so in my head. My body's, like, a few steps behind me.'

Lily and David were first linked in January 2019 when they attended the BAFTA Tea Party together.

In November of the same year, the Somewhere Only We know singer was photographed wearing an engagement ring.

Since tying the knot in September 2020, during the initial wave of Covid-19, David has taken on the role of stepfather to Lily's two daughters.

'I'm in a relationship with three women who all have very different opinions of me at various times,' the actor joked at the time.

He then took a more serious tone when discussing how 'making that kind of a commitment' to the girls was 'a huge thing for me'.

The Stranger Things star added: 'And it just makes you feel a little bit more like a man, to be honest. I just feel a little bit more like an adult.'

Lily previously credited the Covid pandemic with helping her relationship with David.

Talking on Alan Carr's podcast about lockdown, she confessed: 'The pandemic completely changed the course of my life.'

The couple, who married in Las Vegas in September 2020, had only been dating for about six months when the pandemic hit.

Lily explained: 'When the pandemic happened my now-husband and I were at sort of quite early stages of our relationship really, and it was only because he lived in New York and you know they started shutting things down.

'We'd been together for about six months but we definitely weren't at the stage of being like "Let's move in together".

'Obviously I had kids, but because of the pandemic I was like "He can't just be sat there in a flat on his own for however long, I mean how long is this going to last?"'

The actor lived in New York, Lily offered for him to come and move in with her and her two children as a trial period.

'I said to him, "Get on a plane, get over here' and I said to the kids "This is mummy's friend and he doesn't have anyone to stay with, so we're going to have him stay with us" and we lived together for a good six months.

'If it hadn't been for that six months of us being able to test out what it would be like to live together as a family, we would never of had the opportunity to try that out and I would never have taken the risk of moving.'

'Thank God for Covid,' Alan joked while Lily quipped 'Yeah, sorry for all the people that died but my life has improved immeasurably!'

Lily shares Ethel and Marnie with her first husband Sam Cooper, who she was married to from 2011 to 2018.
