  • Naomi Biden announced her pregnancy on election eve
  • William Brannon Neal, IV, was born on January 8th

Naomi Biden shared an adorable photo of her son in an update from the hospital just five days after giving birth.

'Sweet Wilie,' she wrote with a heart emoji, sharing a picture of her son wrapped in a blanket, wearing a hat.

Husband Peter Neal also showed his family prides, showing a photo of himself and Naomi cuddled on the hospital bed with their son.

'30 fingers 30 toes,' he wrote. In the photo, Naomi had her eyes closed but was smiling. Baby William appeared to be sleeping. Tufts of brown hair peeked out from his baby bonnet.

William Brannon Neal, IV, was born on January 8th via cesarean section at Cedars Sinai Hospital. He is President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden first great-grandchild. He arrived weighing 10 lbs and 4 ounces.

The first couple visited him at the hospital on the day he was born as the California wildfires roared just miles away.

Naomi's father Hunter Biden and his second wife Melissa Cohen and their young son Beau were spotted arriving at the hospital as the presidential motorcade rolled in.

First Lady Jill Biden later shared a photo of her with the president. Biden his holding his great grandson. The first lady is fixing a hat on his head.

The president and first lady were in California on what the White House said was an official visit.

Cedars Sinai Hospital is not in an evacuation area.

The Bidens knew Naomi's delivery date in advance.

Biden told USA Today, in an interview conducted last week, that Naomi was scheduled to have a c-section on Wednesday. And that he was going to California to see her.

'I'm about to be a great-grandfather, Jesus God,' he said.

'I'm going out to California. She's due to have a cesarean on the 8th of January,' he added.

Naomi Biden, 30, is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle.

William is Hunter's first grandchild and the Bidens' first great-grandchild.

Jill Biden addressed the Biden family news at a women's health conference she was hosting at the White House last month.

'We've talked about this all this morning - research that uses genetics to find a cause of extreme morning sickness, and I heard this a couple weeks ago, and I was particularly interested because my own granddaughter was going through the same thing,' she said.

Then she burst into a big smile and announced: 'Because we're going to be great grandparents!'

The room burst into applause.

The Bidens spent Christmas together at the White House. Ashley Biden, the Bidens' daughter, posted a family photo to her instagram story.

In it, Naomi stands at the back with husband Peter, her stomach hidden by other family members.

Naomi Biden announced her pregnancy on the night of the 2024 presidential election with a post to her Instagram account.

'(we) voted,' she wrote on her Instagram story, displaying a prominent baby bump with an 'I voted' sticker on it.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed in May that Naomi and her husband Peter Neal were expecting their first child.

Speculation has been rampant for months that she was expecting. It was the talk of a state dinner in May.

Naomi, who is known for wearing fitted clothes to her slim figure, donned loose fitting gowns during multiple occasions when she was seen in public.

As she and Neal entered a state dinner at the White House for Kenya in May, Neal appeared to be gesturing at his wife's stomach as they posed for photos.

As she leaned into him, what appeared to be a baby bump was seen in her long, roomy pleated metallic cape and dress set from Diana Ayad.

At one point, Neal appeared to be pointing to her bump.
