Britney Spears' ex-husband Sam Asghari has admitted he is 'not sad' their marriage ended as he opened up about their relationship in a new interview on Monday.
The actor, 30, dated the Princess of Pop, 43, for several years after meeting on set for her Slumber Party music video. They later tied the knot in June 2022 and their split was finalised in May 2024.
Now Sam has said that he stayed 'grounded' while in a relationship with Britney and her fame 'didn't mess up my mind'.
Speaking as a guest on Kate and Oliver Hudson's Sibling Rivalry podcast, the actor and model said: 'Divorce and break-ups suck for anybody but I always had the mindset of ''I'm not sad it's over'', I'm grateful and happy that it happened.
'It was a very difficult time, we were in a relationship for seven years and there was so much we went through as a couple and it was a beautiful experience.
'You have to just appreciate that it ever happened than to dwell and be sad.'

Celebrity Traitors star Sam went on to reveal that he nearly turned down Britney's Slumber Party music video which later gave him his 'crash course in Hollywood'.
He explained: 'I decided if I wanted to be a serious actor I need to stop commercials and music videos, so I told my agent I'm no longer going to do them or modelling.
'Then one day I got a call saying they want me for an A-list music video but we don't know who it is, I said probably not.
'Then my friend, who was doing make-up and hair, was like they want to cast you and I'm doing it so thought it would be fun and I asked if it was still available and my agent said yes and that they actually reached out again for me.
'I go cool and I go to the music video which was just another job and then there was a seven year relationship that comes from that video and a marriage and a lot of experiences which I like to call a crash course in Hollywood, which was great.'
Asked whether he was the one to approach the Toxic singer first, Sam revealed the pair just started talking and ended up going out on a date.
He said: 'At that time I was young and I wasn't accepting that I could get to know anyone in pop culture I thought it wasn't manly, I just liked rap music I never listened to pop, of course I new who she was though.
'No matter what the job is I will go into it the same way and I went in, it was a two day music video filmed at a house in Cold Water in Beverly Hills and we talked and we figured we were both single and got some sushi and everything was going really well.

'My career is completely different to my personal life though. Things happened the way it happened because of my career I was on an acting job and I met a co-worker and we clicked and she just happened to be the Princess of Pop.'
Elsewhere during the chat, Sam described the singer's infamous decade-plus conservatorship a 'weird' thing to confront.
The Iran native recalled, 'One day I start learning about what the conservatorship is, and that's when I was like, "Wait a minute. I thought I'm in America. What do you mean someone over the age of 18 needs permission from their parents?"
'That was the most difficult and weird spiral thing that I've witnessed in my life.'
Speaking on the podcast virtually, he said the 'best thing' he could do for his then-partner was provide support.
'I think the best thing to do is to provide support in that moment and that's what I did, I provided as much as I could,' he explained.
'This was my experience in life that I had to go through very gently because if you do anything wrong, you say the wrong thing...' he reflected without going further.
Spears was in a conservatorship that lasted from 2008-2021, in which her dad Jamie Spears had total control over her everyday life and career.
Sam is now dating real estate agent and blonde bombshell Brooke Irvine
He reportedly gave her a measly weekly allowance, forced her to use birth control, and prevented her from making changes to her home, among a slew of other restrictions.
Britney regained control of her multimillion-dollar fortune as well as her career and personal freedom when the guardianship was terminated in November 2021.
Her father has insisted the legal arrangement was to protect her wellbeing, but the singer described it as 'abusive' in a bombshell 2021 court appearance.
Sam has now moved on with real estate agent and blonde bombshell Brooke Irvine and the couple went Instagram official on January 1.
They first sparked dating rumours last September when they were spotted together at a park in Los Angeles.
